And go out like a light (pick your round).
A question no one has answered: Show me a 'Career defining win' in Ron's career?
Don't even mention the Ellis-Bonavena over the hill c r a p; unless you want to go the Cooney route feasting on has beens.
I'll give you the Denver Shavers s c r a p, but Earnie LH'ed him into oblivion; thank goodness it was at the end of the round.
He couldn't box, at least against the big boys and he could be hurt, etc.
With all due respect Ron would have been a force in any era, but IMO, he falls far short of "greatness".
Repeat: Show me a career defining win for Ron.

bonavena was PERFECT when he lost to lyle.after he fought ron he was 7-0 and then anyone did shot and killed him. Lyle destroyed shavers and buster mathis,he did beat jimmy ellis, bonavena and joe bugner and was close to stop foreman.
    Shut the ****

You've proved my point. After Lyle a, for all practical purposes, shot Ringo got the decision over Middleton and ended his career beating...no one.
A split decision over Bugner, who was nothing after his melt down embarrassment against Ali in Kuala Lampur.
Ellis was shot...despite talent, Mathis never was taken with any degree of respect with regards to being a top contender.
Show me a Lyle 'career defining win'!
    P.S. I like Lyle.

Shavers almost stopped Lyle. There's every chance the bell saved him as Shavers didn't get the chance to follow up. I wouldn't call that "destroyed".

Great fight, reminded me alot of Liston vs williams, two murderous punchers in a feral slugfest

what a bull****!!! If he got hurt before or not in the same fight it does not change the fact that LYLE DESTROYED SHAVERS BRUTALLY HE WAS DOWN BRUTALLY .HE FELL SEMI DEAD

Lyle was dropped and barely got up earlier too. If not for the bell HE MAY HAVE BEEN SEMI DEAD INSTEAD OF SHAVERS.

Vast apologies but i can't call something a destruction when both had been out on their feet and on ***** street at different stages.

Anyone that hasn't seen this massive Shavers left hook tune in at the 5.55 minute mark and hold on tight. Shavers doesn't get to throw another punch before the bell rings. Lyle took some massive punches off Foreman and no single punch affected him anything like this bomb from Shavers. How insanely hard did Shavers hit?

The fact is that lyle iced him and destroyed him period. You are talking crap now about who hits hatder foreman or shavers etc it has nothing to do with the topic you don't know when you have to stop saying incoherent irrelevant things

Shavers hits harder that's not an issue. You should watch Shavers - Lyle on day.

No he did not .you have absolutely no proof to support this bull**** apart of blahblahblah . but curiously foreman stopped caldwell faster than shavers and he stopped a prime norton not a trash version. Foreman stopped lyle and shavers could not.
I have watched lyle vs shavers around 20 times but i see the reality( you imagine fantasies). lyle destroyed shavers

Curiously Shavers stopped Charlie Polite faster, no mention of that? Shavers also stopped Young yet George was beaten by him. No mention of Young? I certainly agree Norton was well on the downslide however he was only 9 months off that great effort vs Holmes. Shavers stoppage was impressive regardless. Shavers knocked out Norton twice as fast as anyone ever had.

You try to disparage the fact that every common opponent, all 6 of them say Shavers hit harder yet you take stock in the fact that Foreman knocked out Cardwell 6 seconds faster than Shavers.
