It just doesn't add up to me. Either ODH was on PED's as well for 2003, Mosley aged badly from 2000 to 2003, or the "Clear and the Cream" were terrible products that gave no performance boost. Even the punchstats were a bit weird. Mosley only threw and landed about half as many as the first meeting.

One factor between the 2 fights could be weight. The first was at 147 and the second was at 154. Oscar moved to 54 soon after the Mosley fight so maybe weight was a factor for him.

However, neither fighter was apparently using for the 2000 fight which Mosley won...then for the 2003 fight we KNOW Mosley was juiced to the eyeballs, yet ODH arguably beat Mosley. I seriously doubt that 7 extra pounds for Oscar = Balco for Mosley. Isn't it somewhat likely ODH used some "stuff" as well? Am I the only one who finds this a bit weird?

Yes, weight was probably an issue indeed. If I recall correctly, Mosley jumped up two weight classes to take on Oscar the first time. He's certainly not big for welter, let alone JMW.

The Reason oscar won the second (he clearly won), was because he jabbed more. in the first he got outworked with the jab and got outboxed by mosley, mosley never had a good jab, so when DLH started using his, mosley couldnt get the timing right on his jab, Oscar didnt finish well in either fight, but in the second he made sure he used his jab when he could, in the first he just came forward and stalked with jabbing or throwing anything and got confused vs the southpaw mosley far too easily he just stood there baffled...

Oscar fought a smarter fight in the rematch.

Mosley never impressed me at 154. Plus remember, he hadn't won a fight in over 2 years, so there were some questions about his confidence level.

the thing you are missing is that mosley bulked up lifting weights and bought into his pops "power boxing" theory. his pops dksab. mosley did however land some beautiful body punches that had oscar lifting his legs and backing away for a good portion of the fight.

Both high quality fights, but it was around the 2nd fight Mosley was using the clear and the cream and still lost to Oscar or should have lost. The first fight Mosley got cred for being the first man to really beat Oscar in his prime, not Tito, who got a gift decision. Oscar actually does deserve WAY more respect cuz he actually did deserve to win his biggest fights (Trinidad and Mosley rematch) aside from Hopkins and Mayweather of course.

    i scored trinidad/dlh for tito 7-5.

    i scored dlh/mosley 2 for mosley.

oscar got gift decisions against quartey, whitaker and sturm...i also thought he lost to john john molina.

respect for taking on those challenges...absolutely. even though he never won any of the big ones...he deserves credit for taking on the challenges.
