I truly don't know how Fury took some of the clean ass bombs he did because they were clearly devastating punches.

He had to spend the vast majority of his camp in Morecambe and got out to the states late... especially in comparison to his camp for the 2nd fight.

He was back and forth to the hospital because his new born baby girl was extremely ill.

And he still got the job done.

There were well documented personal issues with a shorter camp and as much motivation as you could expect after missing the AJ fight for Wilder, who he had recently destroyed. All in all he fought well for a man who wasn't in the best of shape against a Wilder who in fairness couldn't have given any more - both in the ring and in preparation for the fight.

That being said Fury absolutely did impress by being able to climb off the canvas twice and bounce Wilder around the ring all night.

You probably think 32 year old 6'3" 220 pound headhunting clinching Ali stands a chance. Hehe

Ali's nemesis isn't a slugger whose only notable win is a 38 year old Luis Ortiz. Fury needed to beat Wilder more convincingly if he wanted to be
Wilder is a **** fighter, who made Fury look atrocious, and it elevated Wilder's legacy. Ali wouldn't get knocked down by Steve Cunningham.

The fight was very entertaining, but Fury was not at his best. He was too heavy, and looked a bit more sluggish than usual. He was probably overconfident with the ease he won the second fight. Wilder brought some new tricks with the hard jabs to the body.

Fury was very close to losing this fight in the fourth round. Had there been a few seconds on the clock after the second knockdown, he was likely going down a third time and would have been waived off. Even the look on his face was one of being unsure he wanted to go on. The bell bought him some time and he was able to galvanize himself in the corner. In the end, he had to dig deep to win That was impressive, but from a physicality standpoint he was less than he was for the 2nd fight.

Wilder was more prepared and surprised Fury.
