Joshua faced Breazeale as a voluntary challenger on a pay-per-view for a world title belt. Joshua's best win up to that point was Dillian Whyte who was injured, out of shape and inexperienced. Breazeale had beaten ex-convict Amir Mansour who was able to resume his career after being locked up for a decade. Anyway, this was a great fight. To celebrate its six year and a few months anniversary, here it is: This content is protected By the way, Joshua always faces the best opposition available and Earn and governing bodies have nothing to do with the fact Joshua faced knockover jobs in Pulev, Takam and Molina. There were not reciprocally beneficial negotiations between Earn and governing bodies to ensure that the money kept flooding in and the hype train kept chugging along. It was based solely on merit and who was most well-placed to give the champion the best challenge. The guaranteed millions in bonuses did not matter to the men in suits for they are proper boxing men who love the sport. It was expected that Joshua vs Breazeale would be another Holyfield Bowe, but such was Joshua's excellence it did not turn out like that. It's an utter disgrace that Tyson Fury take on a knockover job so as to mitigate the risk of a banana skin before heading in to the biggest heavyweight clash in about twenty five years and one of the biggest in history. He should be heading in there with another killer like reigning champions Klitschko and Wilder, and in their venue of choice for good measure. Unfortunately, Joshua was sat on the shitter for a whole week and was not able to complete the required paperwork.
Those Box Office punters were reeled in big time by Mr E. Hearn thinking they were watching Anthony 'Muhammed Ali' Joshua when some of us could see the modern day Danny Williams or Herbie Hide levels of ability at best. Knocking out Hector Avilla, Dr Legg, Pensioner Matt Skelton, Pensioner Michael Sprott, Raphael 'Michael Jackson' Zumbano, Queenpin Johnson and Cornish Pasty fast tracks Matchroom Heavyweight fighters into the Hall of Fame and on Box Office. Hearn sells people a pup and they simply have no idea what they are watching. Rinse and repeat after winning a World Title from the toughest teak, long reigning Champion ever seen Charlie Chaplin.
Brezeale doesn't makes top 8 opponents that AJ has beaten so O don't quite get your obsession with Brezeale? AJ has beaten majoritiy of the top 10 opponents in hiz the time (including the number 1 in the divison at the time) in Wlad,Povetkin, Whyte, Parker, Ruiz and Pulev. Whilst other top 10 fighter in Wilder, Fury and Ortiz turned career high purses to fight him (mutiple times in cases of two of them). Whilst fighters you praise have fought the likes Spzilka, Washington, Stiverne, Arreola, Brezeale(Wilder fought him after AJ beat him), Sefrei, Pianetta, Schwarz and Wallin in that time.
What is the top 8 Joshua has beaten? You'd have to put the likes of Martin, who did a Tom Daley, and Molina, who also did a Tom Daley, abov him (probably). Maybe them and Tickling Takam, Pulev, too. Pretty weak stuff. Chisora III does not get in to the top 8 Fury has beaten, either. Wilder, Wilder, Wilder, Klitschko, Wallin, Whyte, Chisora, Chisora, Cunningham. You're forgetting that Whyte blatantly ducked Wallin.
6.Pulev - would be Wilder best ever career win and he would Furys best win after Wlad and Whytw 7. Takam better than any opponent Ortiz has ever beaten and people apparently rate Wilder highly for beating Ortiz. 8.Martin - not good but would easily beat Brezeale and Molina. Could probably beat Wallin who Fury considers to be in his top 5. Also easily would be one of Wilders top wins (that doesn't say much due to how very poor Wilders record is).
Haha. I've already responded to this loads of times. The only thing I'll say is that you're putting Martin above Breazeale and Molina probably because Wilder knocked them both out.
Joshua turning into a roaring lion on the VT then coming out wearing the Muhammed Ali white robe and AJs the hardest blaring from the speakers… Good times..
By number 1 I presume you mean Ruiz, who was only number 1 in your eyes as Joshua lost to him in the first place
, Imagine citing recycled Pulev as a better win than undefeated Ortiz or a better win than Wilder himself. Tragic.
This thread A little context. He fought Breazeale two months after beating Martin for the title. Breazeale was an undefeated Olympian at the time. No one thinks Martin, Breazeale and Molina were the cream of the division, and personally I didn't bother watching the Molina fight til much later as I thought it was a shocking matchup for a champion to take (PBC contract or not). However, between Whyte and Molina was 12 months (4 fights). Between winning the title against Martin and fighting Klitschko was 12 months (4 fights). Or 5 fights in around 16 months. With Klitschko being a huge step up in class. So only a clown would take issue with this. These obsessive Fury fan boys are utter mugs
