every vlad ref allows vlad to jab and grab all night without warning to suit vlads agenda and give him a better chance of winning. a more neutral ref would have given vlad his final warning after 4 rounds, which would force vlad to change his style and fight to a style that doesn't suit his strengths.

Cortez was stopping Hatton for illegial tatics. Yes Floyd didnt exactly fought a foul free fight either but Hatton was still fouling at 75% to Floyd's 25%

Look at Froch and dirrell where Froch was trying to foul and gets no warning but Dirrell get a pt docked for leaning on his opponent? So if that ref would've ref Hattons fight, hatton will have gotten DQed every fight.

I was so furious to see how dirty Hatton was against Kostya. Reminded me why i do not like to watch Hatton fights. Every attempt of a attack is off of a clinch. Literally is either attack clinch or after clinch. He was rabbit punching throughout and trying to hold and hit the WHOLE match. And when Kostya accidently hit him a little low and retailated with a Blantantly low blow. The entire match he didn't get warn or deduct a single point even after an obvious low blow. It was very disgusting to watch, i lost count how many rabbit punch attempts.

For the most part the match was still close dispite of how dirty Hatton was fighting but Kostya's defense just wasn't good enough to deal with Hatton.

But after the fight I re-watch Floyd vs Hatton just to see how he was able to deal with Hatton's style while Kostya was drowning in it. And i must say that Floyd is really God gifted athlete who just adapt so well to any style but the end of the 2nd round Floyd had a counter for Hatton's tactics and completely netrualized Hatton constant rabbit punching attempts. Floyd was avoiding the rabbit punching too which i thought was amazing but how he was able to see the punches behind him and avoid hurts way and he was out clinching Hatton when he was bum rushing in. And by the 5th round he was timing Hatton as he was coming in almost at will which led to the ko to the turnbuckle it was very satisfying to see it. Especially Hatton had the nerve to complain about FLoyd's tactic/dirty when HE IS ALL DIRTY.

people forget that floyd himself did a lot of holding and clinching that night too....he would lead with that right, duck and hold....

Floyd can do without holding. Ricky Can't. If the guy is crashing into you, you will do whatever the instincts tell you. If they fought that fight without holds. Ricky will be KOed in 3.

It was a pretty deplorable display if you're looking for pugilistic finesse.
But most of us know a prime Kostya removes Ricky's head.
How people can grudge a limited fighter like Ricky achieving as much as he did goes beyond me.Rarely does a fighter with such limited skills get to the level Ricky did.

Ward uses his head like an expert headbutter and gets stick for it on these boards,rightfully so.But Ricky Hatton was one of the filthiest fighters of this generation and Dave Parriss' performance in the Tsyzu Hatton fight was the worst I've ever seen.Ward's a dirty fighter,but Hatton makes him look like Alexis Arguello.

Considering the treatment he got in his fight against Tsyzu,it's not surprising at all.Btw,besides past it Tsyzu,who is the best fighter he beat?Don't say light punching Collazo,who had Ricky hanging on for dear life at the end of that one.

Without the fouls Hatton would not even be known. His wrestling/UFC/Boxing tactics/pop star boxer status allowed him to become a hard fighter to beat. Rules don't apply to him match after match.

I meant more the fact that he became the top draw in the division,and everyone wanted to fight him because they knew he brought a big purse share.
Chico Corrales was after him,amongst others.
He was a big name for a while,and given his very limited repertoire,that was no small achievement.

As soon as Ricky was not allowed to fight with a native Manchester ref in the Ring he looked vulnerable.
