Underrated brutality in this match up between two ATG's.

B/C every potential HOF or ATG HW coming out of these past 3 eras has either been mopped by him, his brother, or both.:good:good:good

Who do you consider a potential HOF or ATG though at HW? Chris Byrd? The man was a middleweight who fought his way to Heavyweight walking down and beating Vitali Klitschko.

Honestly I can't really think of ONE who had the potential to be a great. The last great was Lewis, and he'd beaten every man he faced.

If one of the Americans had won the title in that era and defended it succesfully a couple of times he would have been called an ATG, no matter his (lack of) quality

Sanders, he became one after, having in his prime achieved nothing in the lewis era, suddenly when retired shot2shyte was a whisker away from being undisputed hw champ in the K2 era.

SUrely that eclipses even George foremans 2nd career lol. or it tells us that the K2 era was shyte.....

Lol, that doesn't make any sense. For one, HW boxing has and always will be influenced by American boxing. Lewis and Wlad adopted the style of American pugilism from the great Emmanuel Steward. Before that, they were getting hilariously knocked out by journeymen and mental cases.

Briggs, the last American HW before Wilder, was an absolute bum who got outboxed by a 50 year old George Foreman yet got robbed in the cards. Matter fact, the HW division was so bad that former Middleweight James Toney and old shot Holyfield were still making waves in the division. Roids or no Roids, Sam Peter(number 2 HW in the planet) got out boxed by a slurring James Toney.
