1. Ortiz 2. Wilder 3. Wilder 4. Ortiz 5. Wilder 10-8 6. Wilder 7. Ortiz 10-8 8. Ortiz 9. Wilder 10. KTFO So Wilder 85-84 through nine rounds (5-4 in rounds).
I was going for Ortiz. However, at the end of the 7th round I knew he was finished based on the way he slumped on his stool.
Tbh, the fact that the judges all gave Ortiz the 7th round 10-8 tends to mitigate against the suggestion that the fix was in. I don't disagree with 10-8 but it also could have just been scored 10-9. It was pretty much a 20 second burst by Ortiz in that round with maybe 5-6 really clean punches. If you give Wilder 5, 6, 9 (which might be questionable but I think Wilder probably takes it for rattling Ortiz late), and one of the first 4 (as I scored it live I thought round 2 could have gone either way) then you have it 5-4 Ortiz. Ortiz was knocked down and Wilder wasn't. So you could either have it tied or Ortiz ahead by one point.
I had it 4 to 5. 1, 2, 4, 7, 8 Ortiz. 3, 5, 6, 9 Wilder. 10/8 round for each of them. If Ortiz had survived the 10th he would have lost that round 10/7. It would have been 94 to 92 on my card. Nothing really to complain about.
Ortiz was going to be robbed if he'd lasted another 7 minutes and the fix was in. It's sadly what you expect though especially with Joshua and a mega million bonanza waiting.
First 4 rounds shouldn't have been uninamous since they were so close without a lot of action, if there's corruption it's in the fan scoring. Ortiz got the benefit of the doubt in round 7, which should not have been a 10-8 unanimously, maybe one judge but not all 3. Doesn't matter, Ortiz got knocked the **** out like I said he would.
I almost missed it because I had read somewhere that it was PPV. Decided to make sure and there it was! Maybe it was PPV in Europe?
