I'm looking at 2 gyms in philly right now.

it's between joe hand and james shuler's boxing gym.

Joe hand- newer, nicer equipment, looks to be in a better neighborhood

James Shuler- Nazim Richardson is a trainer there and I'd like to train under him (don't know his rates)

Does Nazim also coach at Joe Hand? I heard it coaches at a couple of gyms in the area

Go where your gonna find the best instruction for someone at your experience level.

Trainer makes a big difference but may be hard to train with the more reputable ones if your unknown.

I'm not from Philly and I'm not familiar with the area. However, if I were ever serious with my boxing, and I was to train in Philly I would hit up Stephen "Breadman" Edwards. I've been following his column for years and he's definitely one trainer I would absolutely consider.

I have no idea if he trains at either one of those gyms, but I know he's in Philly. Good Luck.

problem with shulers is its hard to get a lot of sparring, i mean if thats the level your at.

Also don't sleep on the PAL boxing gym right off 69th street. Great amateur gym, Bhop pops in once in a while
