Find Griffith's two fights against Dick Tiger. In 1966, Griffith narrowly outpointed Tiger in 15, decking him for the first time in his career in 9. I thought Emile clearly won it, and he was smart and disciplined throughout. This fight was one that really intrigued me at the age of 13, and turned me on to the finer points of the sport. Their rematch in 1970 was nontitle, and a one sided affair, again Griffith sticking to a smart game plan all the way.
As for Patterson, it may be surprising, but his best fight could have been his decision victory over Eddie Machen in '64. He was technically very good, used his great hand speed, and even took punches very well from Machen. He was in control all the way in this one.
