Ricky Burns is looking very strong and quick just now and I expect Ricky to stop this guy I don't think there will be many who can handle the work rate and pressure Ricky will put on you for 12 very hard rounds, yes it looks as though he can punch but you only hurt what you hit and Ricky's defence is watertight
The attitude seems to have changed somewhat about this fight, and more sensible posts.Gonzalez was rubbish according to a lot of members when first proposed. What I saw and still see,is a champion defending against his number one contender, and the guy is Puerto Rican, unbeaten, tall and can punch. Can see a points win for Ricky with a few hairy moments along the way.No stoppageIMO.This is a good fight, and if Gonzalez won,not the biggest shock ever for me.Thats how it should be.Regarding Walsh,if he could be more active, could see him putting himself into a legitimate position for a shotMaybe beating Rees in a year or 2,due to being younger and fresher.
crude slugger is a good description of this fella I expect burns to get a UD, but gonzalez is shitter than expected burns will step it up like with mitchell
Not at all, when we come through this fight we want unification fights. Thing is in the UK only Gavin is capable of sharing a ring with Ricky, the rest are Levels below
I think he's getting underrated here .In that vid one of his opponents gets carried out in a stretcher .Will be impressive if Burns stops him .This is a good clip watch this .Tbh I wouldn't take this guy lightly the Puerto Ricans on the scene rate him as well .Hopefully i'm wrong but he's supposed to be a good counter puncher and he can switch and fight .This is a good clip watch it and listen to it they're talking about Burns .Felix Tito Trinadad ringside as well . http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ln2uveBGLAc
Glad to hear it Billy that's the sort of fights you and Ricky deserve hopefully Eddie can deliver. All the best for next week.
My first thought too. From what Ive seen Burns should handle Gonzalez but who knows what the lay-off and cancelled fights have done to him. I hope that he comes in 100% focussed, beats his mando and then moves on to bigger and better things.....not Rees
The level of opposition in that clip is awful, like someone has just been dragged out of the crowd...the guy was static on the ropes and Gonzalez was still missing straight shots down the pipe
