Walsh would do ok in the first half of the fight, but then he'd take an absolute pasting. Rees is far better.

I agree, plus the commentator said the guy took the fight at short notice. His record was also poor. If that's the level of opposition Gonzalez has been fighting then Burns is a huge step up for him.

Not hyping him mate .Think when Burns fought Rocky who would have picked Burns .Another undefeated Puerto Rican just saying people are looking past him like he's a nobody ( he'll be hungry ) .An undefeated Puerto Rican with that many kos is a dangerous fight I think .I route for Burns all the way but to me this looks like a good and could be competitive fight . Any hardcore fan should know not to take an undefeated Puerto Rican lightly .Still hope to see the very best of Burns though .

Due to his poor match ups I fear he might face a guy much more dangerous and hungrier than he's used to.

Routing for Ricky all the way but got to admit I love my competitive side of the boxing too much sometimes ( Puerto Ricans and Mexicans ) Any hardcore fan loves the 2 boxing nations .

"than he's used to" strikes me as you think Burns will be complacent.

I don't believe Ricky is the complacent type. Far too grounded for that.

Not in Burns' mindset, but he hasn't had a tough test in a long time.

The reason he's not been tested is because of the improvement in him as a boxer and that he's now a genuine world class fighter!
Ricky at present beats an LW in the world but MrGonzalez has our full attention and will be getting it next week

    Burns via stoppage.....legit stoppage.

Gonzalez never done 12......never left Rico......never faced that crowd.....then Ricky Burns at Lightweight.

Still remember the Kats weigh-in and Burns being bang on the weight.......and am sure a few were surprised given he was moving up.

People forget he was cutting muscle at Super Feather for quite some time.......gives reason for the lack of knockouts perhaps.

Anyways.......just my opinion......and I don't think I ever claimed he would knockout his opponent in any previous fight....so yeah.

Was gonna add up the win/loss ratio on Gonzalez opponents with regards to his cheen.......canna be arsed and dosent really matter eh.

    Sound.

Burns is a great boxer, I will never deny that.

I was just worried about this is a tough fresh opponent, and hoped Ricky, as well as you, are prepared for him.

But you seem to have answered my question, so I wish you both the best of luck! I'll be watching in support :)
