i was flicking through a top 200 fighters book and i realised although i had heard of all o fthem there was some i had seen very little or no footage off so i was wondering if anyone could help me out getting footage of some of the guys. Jofre and Loi are absolute essentials to learn more about. Make them the priorities. Loi's style is superb to watch.
cheers Smith i still got Monzon DVDs in my house for you IB it was just a selection of 200 top boxers
There's hardly any footage of him at all, and what's available to view is far different than what's been written about him. Hell, he doesn't even fight southpaw in the footage available. Not that it means much, more than likely he was either having off nights and/or applying a simple change of pace to his normal style. Anyone who gets the better of a prime Carlos Ortiz in a series is obviously a great fighter.
Come to think of it, not even Jofre has much footage. Just his fights with Harada and Medel if I'm not mistaken. At least of what is readily available. I'm sure there's more out there (possibly of both he and Loi), but it would take some undigging to acquire.
yeh it would Sweet Pea. I just wrote them down as i hadnt seen too much of them just the Harada fight of Jofres.
Look into getting the medel fight, he is as impressive as almost any fighter i've seen in that fight, medel was a quality fighter as well
Just had a look on youtube, used to only have the a small highlight package, it appears to be your lucky day as now have all the footage up [YT]VGp7QXPjYUc[/YT] [YT]yv0vrg6tSSs[/YT] [YT]4MEBNiN2yJQ&feature=related[/YT] [YT]SdP0_omKFy0&feature=related[/YT]
Eusebio Pedroza's best performance was probably his win over Patrick Ford. He looked brilliant in that fight. Nice defense, terrific body attack (actually to the ribs and stomach and not the balls). He also beat an aging Ruben Olivares, and won a close decision in a real foulfest against Juan LaPorte. Although I thought Pedroza should've been DQ'd, it was a pretty entertaining fight and worth watching. Riddick Bowe, well obviously there's 3 matches with Evander Holyfield. Bowe looked real good in his win over amateur rival Jorge Luis Gonzalez, right before his 3rd match with Holyfield. Right before Bowe faced Holyfield the first time, he fought Pierre Coetzer in a real entertaining fight. Another fight in which Bowe showed his infighting skills, terrific uppercut, and brawling mentality. The rematch with Andrew Golota was one of the most exciting and crazy HW fights I've seen, although a little tough to watch. If you're looking to order particular fights, I've gotten a ton from this site. http://boxingdvd.com/
I'll recomend three. Battling Siki is a pure brawler. His fight with Carpeintier is a must see. Cerdan is a technical powerhouse. Watch out for that hook! Yuri Arbachakov is very under rated. He looks nearly unbeatable at his weight.
