He only acted like a guy who didnt like Groves though, & as George tries so hard to be like David Haye, who in turn tries so hard to be like the sultan of smug himself Adam Booth, its not so hard to see why Degale wanted to knock his lights out, & couldnt hide the fact!

same as that my good man, only watched the fight when it happened, not enough action for me to watch a repeat. Thats what annoyed me though, Degale at least begged Groves during the build up to come & fight on the night, & Groves put the earmuffs on & stole it on aforementioned sob story. At least Degale was instigating the action, Groves stunk the joint out IMO & got away with daylight robbery.

Just my neutral opinion. The lad can fight though, so Im not mocking him. I just want to see him stop acting like a diva, & rematch Degale or Anderson, cos he owes them one. Time for Groves to show that he wasnt lucky on both occasions, & shut up the snipers.

I'm not sure why a fight with Groves is even being talked about. It's ludicrous. Anderson has done nothing to deserve the fight and even though he had success against Groves 2 years ago, their paths have gone two entirely different ways since then. Groves has gone on to beat 3 fighters with better records than Anderson and in contrast, Anderson has fought 5 opponents, and only one of them has a 50% win rate, the rest all have less than that and 3 of those 5 have losing records.

Anderson is a good fighter and I like him. However, they are not even on the same level at this point. Anderson is stuck fighting complete bums whilst Groves was in line for a world title shot and is making a name for himself in America. What does Anderson bring to the table? Nothing. If Groves beats him, he won't get any respect because he's already beaten him and Anderson is a guy with no sort of resume, and if Groves loses, he loses to a guy he should have beaten.

If Anderson wants the fight, he should have to earn it.

 

Thing is Jack, Groves is the belt holder and if he's moved past Domestic Level like many feel and he's not interested in fighting Anderson his mandatory then he should drop the belt IMO. Anderson is the most active SMW domestically at present and yes his level of opposition isn't great but BB has stated part of the reason behind that.

Smith's been out for a long while and is coming back in September. Groves has faced the domestic division and won the fights so now it's either stick around and go over old ground or move on because past Anderson/Smith and DeGale there's a real drop in levels i mean realistically outside of Anderson who's earned the right to fight Groves again for the title bar DeGale maybe?. Magee is pursuing other avenue's and Groves is holding out for the winner of the WBO title fight in August.

I just think this whole situation should of been dealt with a lot better by the board and by Groves team.

Yeah, I agree, mate. I think Groves should have just dropped the belt personally. He has no business at British level any more and should be looking at facing gatekeepers to the elite.

 

Dunky, it does not. mr Skillspaybills stated that this happened prior to first fight, Brown Bomber stated Anderson was routinely sparring boxers better than Groves.

 

To be fair Dunky, Degale acted like a total knob. Whether Groves is smug or not became irrelevant given the way Degale was conducting himself - he was embarrassing and isn't clever enough to run his mouth the way he did.

As for the fight, robbery? Nah. I'm all for a rematch with Anderson though. Hope it happens as good fight.

 

Groves wants the Anderson fight, if the money is there it will happen.

 

I feel for Kenny that boxing politics has put his career on hold, but I don't thing Groves deserves too much flak. The one thing he did wrong was seemingly cancelling the fight with a fake injury. But that was to get a world title shot. The fight would have happened in September if Groves hadn't got that cut. Groves should vacate now, he can always challenge Kenny for the belt at a later date.
