    James DeGale told Setanta Sports News that he will make an announcement on his future in the next week.

    The Olympic gold medallist is tipped to sign professional terms with Frank Warren, who has promised a 'major announcement' next Thursday.

    DeGale told Setanta Sports News at the British Boxing Board of Control 2008 Awards that he was 80 percent certain where his future lies.

    "I'm still making this decision. I'm not going to confirm it yet," DeGale said on Setanta Sports News.

    "It's just a case of signing things. It's the biggest decision I'll ever have to make.

    "I'm not saying 'I'm going to go pro'. But I'll tell you the truth - 80% of me says 'go professional'.

    "In the next week or 10 days, it should be announced what I'm doing."

    DeGale admits to being inspired by the biggest names in British boxing as he prepares to make the leap into the paid ranks.

    "I see Joe Calzaghe, Ricky Hatton and David Haye win world titles and think: 'That's me all over - the big stadiums, the crowds, the lights'," he said.

    "My first aim was to become an Olympic champion, and the second aim is to become a professional world champion.

    "I've achieved the first half of that, so what is there for me to do now?"

    Thats me all over my arse, which fcker apart from his family are going to pay to watch the turdman. The only lights he will see are those above him from the ring lighting when he gets knocked out. Mouthy mofo.

    Its funny how the talk of £2m has also been dropped. Fanny face degale was never offered that and had his bluff called by every promoter.
