I'm perplexed as to why Sky are even dealing with this ITV reject to begin with. I guess he attracts viewers, but he's always leading them down a dead end, it's never building to anything but another fair to middling matchup or outright sham fight. When he did get himself involved in something legitimate (WBSS), he flopped.
Credit where credit is due Eubank turned over with little experience and it has been interesting to watch him improve over the years (I remember him having some pretty competitive fights with the likes of Jason Ball, Terry Carruthers and Tyan Booth). However this is just disappointing. 32 years of age and at a point of his career where he should be gunning for titles but instead he is chasing a circus fight like this. Where's the ambition? He likes to call out the big names but for someone who has been in the mix for years he has only fought at world level once (and was soundly beaten). I know this is the best risk reward ratio fight for him and I cant knock it from a business perspective. But I'm sick of fighters manufacturing their records fighting washed up former champions, building records that look good on paper but do not stand up to a moments scrutiny. Cant help but feel Eubanks career has been a waste of time as a fan.
