Both have been out of action for a little while etc, both hungry to move up to the next level. I think it has the makings of a great fight
Anderson v Smith would be a solid matchup. However, and I'm by no means an Anderson fanboy but given the weight and recent stoppage losses for Snith; Kenny has to be a strong favourite here. Saying that if Wayne Reed puts you on your arse...
Groves should vacate, there's not a lot out there for him domestically. If he was really scared of Kenny Anderson he'd have ducked him the first time. Plus, he's improved out of sight since then, the chin high, waving his arms around like a string puppet style has been tightened somewhat. Anderson hasn't fought anyone since I'm afraid, so any improvements can't really be gauged. I'd like to see it but it's not the end of the world. Anderson should be a nominated challenger for the vacant title though.
The domestic SMW is poor, hardly any depth. Froch and Magee hold versions of world titles. DeGale is at Euro level now and no one really knows what's going on with his career, Groves wants to move on so what's left? An ancient Robin Reid, Anderson, Paul Smith and Rocky Fielding.
Wouldn't surprise me if Smith grabbed a victory here. Despite the losses to Degale and Groves, he's hardly chinny. Degale was more a case of Smith getting disspirited and frustrated down the stretch and Groves landed an absolute bomb. People seem to think that Anderson is some indestructible monster since the Groves fight. People seem to forget, that Groves turned it on it's head and punched out a fine stoppage win. Anderson had off nights before Groves, and he'll have more. I think people are basing too much around him giving Groves a shellacking for four rounds. Good fight though.
Agreed and that's why i don't get people moaning at Anderson's level of opposition when Kev Maree has explained the situation and as you rightly say the depth isn't there..
