Like the Mtagwa comparison by itself, a Salido comparison by itself won't paint the full picture of Lopez-Gamboa superiority...but it will splash a bit more color on the canvas, especially combined.
A much tougher opponent for Lopez ( and Gamboa ) is the ever dangerous Mickey Garcia, hmmm, Garcia can take Lopez !!! :bbb But Arum is not dumb, he doesn't want to spoil the Gamboa-Lopez Mega Sho-down, but it's not in fear that Gamboa may lose, it's in fear that Lopez may lose! :good
LOL nice way to put it. It would be interesting if the reverse of the Mtagwa comparison happens here. What I mean is, what if Lopez takes out Salido in the 2nd round? What picture would that paint?
Yeah no doubt, we'll see what Mikey has on the under card of Gamboa vs Solis. But you know what I don't think Roberto Garcias wants to his brother against Lopez because he is very good friends with Lopez. He would rather go after Gamboa and John. Lopez is kind of like a last resort. Eli Seckback (spelling) put some vid interviewing Garcia about this. And when Lopez name came up Roberto was like... "Man Lopez is a great fighter a monster, but he's my friend, he's good people..." But Mikey wants it! :bbb
LOL That is great!!! Spot on. Besides the hair and green skin tone the hulk does resemble Gamboa. While Jugganaut is throwing that Lopez style left :good
Also, you add another opponent in common for both of them, the comparison starts and the "I did better than you did"(like someone said he's tired off) begins, and it builds up the fight for the millions that Arum is looking for.
Sure, but it's bs. When Salido is coming off a big loss. But instead of going in back of the line to work his way back to a title shot, he gets it just like that?
That's Arum, but remember my quote the night after these two met, bs or not the threads of "WHO DID IT BETTER"?, "DID LOPEZ BEAT OF SALIDO WAS BETTER THAN GAMBOA'S"?, quotes like "Salido KD Gamboa but wasn't able to KD Lopez"(in case that doesn't happen) and that's what Arum and the writers wants, like puertorricane said,(it's all business) he doesn't care about Salido getting a title shot that fast and without earning it, he cares about the money. Salido isn't dissapointed either to fight for a title.
...especially it's at 130, Solis is a very dangerous fight for Gamboa. I would say, his toughest opponent to date.
when they have to come down in weight, yes, but if you don't struggle to make the weight and you got there without any real sacrifice, a couple of pounds doesn't make that much of a difference the fight was at 126lbs and mtagwa decided to come in at 122lbs, maybe he wanted it more speed i don't know, the fact of the matter is that they choose to b at that weight. The last gamboa fight against salido, he was 10lbs over the limit between the weight in and the fight, so he lose his belt because of that and gamboao took it away for real.
Right I agree with you comment G. What I'm saying is that perhaps JuanMa was struggling to make 122 and it showed in his bad performance against Rodgers Mtagwa. Cuz right after his that bout he decided to go up. Not that Mtagwa did poor against Gamboa because he went up, no. Oh, ok my bad I misunderstood what GE was saying. You right Mr. Express it wouldn't of mattered how heavy Mtagwa would of came in against Gamboa, he still would of got wooped. My bad GE, and thanks for pointing that out Garfios. Man I really should take my time reading these post. But that's what I get for trying to post while I'm at work :-(.
Hey, has JuanMa's fight with Salido been made official? I'm hearing he's also in talks with another Mexican brawler Miguel Roman, or am I being misinformed? Really doesn't matter, I mean JuanMa can beat both, just want to now what the word is, thanks.
Solis looked drained when he fought at 126lbs. I think at 130lbs would be toughter for Gamboa than 126lbs.
