Looks like Kessler has no interest in fighting Bute

agree. Abraham deserves respect for seeing his part in the super 6 through. It was a tall ask for him to come up to by far the most competitive weight division in boxing and compete with the elite straight away.

I'd be disappointed if Kessler choses to fight someone else. He's expressed a lot of interest in facing Bute in recent months saying he'll "kick his butt anywhere" etc, and I'd be frustrated should Kessler actually opt for the "easy route."

    Boxing needs more Froch's!

Once again 1 idiot pops around to spread his " wisdom ".
    Bute:
"I'm ready to fight Kessler anywhere"
Why couldn't Mikkel wait for Bute to finish his mandatory business with Mendy and see if he really meant that.

R: Would you be willing to go to the states to fight Pavlik or Taylor(this was b4 Froch v Taylor fight happen).
    Bute: Bien sûr (Of Course)
    Translator: Anytime
    Bute: Anytime

Promoter Mick Hennessy is now set to bring Canada-based IBF champion Bute to Nottingham and said:
    This content is protected
    This content is protected
We would then be looking at setting up a fight with WBA champion Mikkel Kessler next March.”

From all this quotes Bute doesn't strike me as the guy who doesn't wants' to get out of his home town, but the guy who had few or no chances to do so. We are talking about chances that are making financially sense to. Actually Bute has had only 1 fight in his home town the one against Donny McCrary 6 years ago when Lucian was 11-0-0. And his fight to come will be only his second fight in his Home Country.
It's true that Canada has become his home country at a point and Montreal has become his home town at a point but don't believe that it was easy from the get going.

    Yeah we'll see.

I still believe that Bute is plan A for Sauerland, but to me Stieglitz is still a good option.

    Bouadla - Stieglitz - Bute - S6winner for IBF/WBA/WBC/WBO/RING. Pretty good.

    indeed...

some props to arthur for taking it like a man(althought i didnt like what he did to dirrell...it was bs...and i feel bad because i dunno whats up with andre going forward)....but u could see the frustration in sauerland about the whole thing in the fight camp episodes...especially the one before the froch fight...hes seen his star outgunned....

its funny to look back at the online books odds before the tourney started...abraham and kessler were the betting faves....ward woulda paid good money....froch too...and dirrell....i honestly think dirrell is still an unbeaten fighter in my eyes....

id love to see kessler/bute....but if we have to see bute/pavlik or something ill be fine...bute against anything of real name value would be appealing to me

I follow boxing in Denmark and it is no doubt Kessler and Sauerland gonna meet Bute for a fight in desember/january after Kessler grabbing the WBO-belt from Stieglitz.
Kessler back from an eye-injury and in a new more american style need to take it step by step. He did not spar for a year

I still believe that Kessler is plan A for Interbox, but to me Stieglitz is still a good option (for Bute) if Bute-Kessler doesn't happen. Bute might have 2 belts IBF & WBO and better leverage against Ward/Froch 's WBA & WBC

    Mendy - Stieglitz - Ward/Froch

But i'm a boxing fan, i want Kessler-Bute first. Kessler will lose in the long term; if he really said that Bute is Showtime's hype then Bute will have a easy route and meet first the winner of their grand prix

Interbox already tried to get a fight with Stieglitz. Few was surprised when the german turned them down. Difference between Bute and Kessler is that Kessler is now mando and Stieglitz wont have to travel 6-7 timezones.

I understand the frustration of you Bute-fans. I honestly feel with you. After Kessler lost to Calzaghe, no big name wanted anything to do with him, so he was forced to fight second-tier opposition. His break came with a change of promotor and the supersix.

As a boxingfan, I want Bute-Kessler as well. Maybe Bedard is right. Maybe Kessler will fight Stieglitz next. Oh well.... I hope Sauerland makes a reasonable offer for Bute and if that doesn't work a fight with Stieglitz isn't a bad second option and a fight that surely will be entertaining while it lasts.

WBO rules say that a champion (not heavy), has 9 months to defend against the mando. Last mando he fought I believe was Gutknecht and that was 14 months ago.

Still WBO is not known to enforce their rules with venom...

Ornelas wasn't a mandatory and Gruchtneck was a 160lbs so you're probably right! anyway WBO is Sauerland !

Stieglitz is good, has nice combos but is there to be hit and he can't take big shoots (see Berrio and Andrade)- he should survive more then Bouadla; i also understand Kessler and Kessler's fans, Kessler is not a clear favourite coming into a fight with Bute and maybe he needs another fight; but Showtime made some plans when they signed Bute and if Bute - Kessler doesn't happen by the time the winner of Super Six becomes available then all the Kessler's fans must agree that Bute will get his shot first at Ward/Froch. Tables may turn and Kessler will be left out the major league again for 2,3 even 4 fights; hope Sauerland makes a serious offer to Interbox, they may fight in Danmark at 03:00 or 04:00 AM for Showtime; it has been done before
