Sauerland. One family name that sums it all. If you believe him more than any other people in the boxing industry, you are really biased. Your opinion is based on air, sadly.

Kessler's team came to Montreal to promote a Bute-Kessler fight. Kessler was sayyin: I'm gonna kick his ass in Montreal. He was supposed to fight St-Juste, a southpaw, to prepare himself for Bute. Then, he goes the WBO way. He takes an orthodox fighter for his return and asks to become the WBO mandatory. Sauerland can say that the offer was too low (he said that in the medias but had not even spoke to Interbox), he had gone the WBO way BEFORE he received it.

    Facts speak by themselves.

Looks like Kessler is dedicating his return to fighting cabdrivers all the way.

I know Bute's entire career is pretty much a duplicate of Calzaghe's approach but isn't he the one trying to make this fight?

I think it's more that Showtime wants the fight as opposed to Bute.

What is Bute's camp so upset about anyway? They have to be patient. They have been fighting weak opposition for a while now and making good money so what's the problem. Kessler and Pavlik are both not ready and need some more fights, so why try to get them not at their best. There will be a lot of good opponents for Bute soon, patience.

They need to call Johnson if they want a challenge.

Kessler cares about his career. He knows when he'll be ready to step up. Two rough fights in the super 6 with the finalists, and some think he is ducking Bute or southpaws lesser than Bute...smfh.

No, Butes career isn't even close to a duplicate of what Calzaghe has done in the ring.

We're calling world champions cabdrivers now because they're not on the top shelf? Awesome. I like to be glib and stuck-up about other people's accomplishments too. It makes me very cool and above it all.

Kessler wants the S6 winner , he is not that interested in Bute. Remember what did he said when they announced that the injury will be healed soon.
MK: "Bute needs to take a step back"
No he doesn't he took a forced step back 2 years because of the s6 when it's finished he needs to take a leap forward not a step back. Thinking back at that statement, Kessler or Kessler's team never had Bute as their first choice. :admin

I'm not sure about that. If you asked me couple of weeks ago I would've agreed with you but now thinking back at it I'm not sure how much barging power does showtime have on the winner. I'm thinking that Showtime has the power/rights/clauses whatever , to air couple of fights of the winner after the tourney it's over. But I don't think they have power to name the challanger , I'm thinking that WBC amd WBA will have more power to do that, thing which make Kessler the favorite to be the first challanger , ESPECIALLY if Froch is the winner. Also Kessler is probably the biggest draw(money generator) out there even bigger than Bute. Tho... Kessler will have to travel to England to face Froch.

Because Bute vs Kessler will be huge in both Canada and Denmark. They have huge followings they can generate a huge sums of money for both camps. Kessler has been for long time in the top so he created a lot of fans not only in Denmark where he's pulling huge crowds at live gates and in front of tv also in Germany and maybe other country to. Bute also is extremely popular in Canada especially in Quebec region. Even tho he's not Candian by blood he learn the language the culture he lives there , he respects the people and I think he became Canadian citizen to. Bute is the most humble champion you'll ever see, I'm guessing the Canadians are respecting the human qualities they saw in Bute, and they made him feel as one of their own, he even call's himself a " Quebecois ". Bute also have the Romanians , not only casuals fans of boxing but even thos who don't normally watch boxing will watch Bute. I have a friend who never seen a boxing match but he want's to go with me at Bute v Mendy. The Romanian tv spectators are used to waking at 3 or 4 in the morning to see a Bute fight because of the time difference between Romania and Canada. No mater were the fight will take place the Romanian's will be in front of Tv in large numbers.

What happened was, that Sauerland wanted Stieglitz for the comeback fight, but Stieglitz didn't want part of it. He knows, that there are bigger fish in the pond. That is also why, he doesn't want part of fighters like Bute.

They went to Canada to hear Interbox. Both sides got good PR, but the money just ain't there. 2 mill. $ is nothing. Kessler alone will need more. He got more than 2.5 mill. for the Super-six fights. 5 mill for the Calzaghe fight.

Then Sauerland probably got through the gates in WBO. A win against Bouadla would be able to land a mandatory position. Then there was not a chance for Bute-Kessler.

But from a rational view neither camp has a big interest in the fight at present. Kessler and Bute probably want the fight, but they are not the ones making the decisions.

And Butes defenses the best available? William Joppy wasn't a top50 fighter. Zuniga was easily beaten by Inkin six months before, and was not a top20 fighter. Miranda probably just inside the top20. Magee was a solid fighter in the top15. Brinkley? You tell me.
