What he proved in that fight was that he could be disciplined enough to keep his guard up, outjab his opponent and that he has fast hands. When I say skillfull I mean the ability to beat an opponent even when the other guy has physical advantages, to outsmart people and show variety. Look at Hopkins, he's nothing special physically. He's not that quick, not that powerful, hasn't got great reflexes, but the mutha****a is clever enough to beat you because he knows how to use the attributes he has. Khan hasn't shown variety in his boxing. He's does the jab, jab, straight right, and that's it. He's pretty stiff IMO.

If JMM ops to fight Katisdis, i think Khan's only real option is Maidana.

Cant see Maidana letting Ortiz a guy he beat let him have a shot at a title that he has been a mandatory for so long. Maidana would force the issue with WBA to have Khan stripped, or fight him.

Both Ortiz and Maidana are punchers so why not go for the guy that everyone says is ducking in Maidana, Ortiz i feel is still in the process of rebuilding from that loss from Maidana.

Khan vs Maidana needs to happen.

And that's an example of what I mean. Despite Bradley being disadvantaged when it comes to size and speed, I think he would beat Khan because he's more skillfull. Khan is a better athlete, and he's improved his defence since he got with Roach but it's too early to say he's now a complete boxer. We know he's disciplined enough to keep his hands up, and not stay in the danger area longer than he needs to, but his boxing brain hasn't been tested, his ability to adjust hasn't been tested, we've not seen him against a power puncher since Prescott, etc.

Put simply, I think if Khan had Bradley's body, he wouldn't go too far. If you play a boxing videogame long enough, you become so good that even if you choose to play as Rcky Hatton, you can beat up your friend who's a novice and playing as Sugar Ray Robinson. That's what I mean by skill. Not the tools you have, but how you use them. Khan has improved, but he hasn't been tested properly IMO. When he fights someone elite, he'll have to rely on more than speed alone.

ero-sennin - I dont think anyone is claiming that he is elite or complete. Just that he would beat Maidana.

Khan vs Paulie was a display of using boxing basic's to your best advantage, it was a lesson for younsters and young boxers of basic's done to the best.

You are right on a boxing skill level Khan is yet to be tested, but i believe he has the skill set but yet to fully showcase it.

Vs Paulie, why change something or mix it up when the basic's are doing the job great. Someone stated to me why Khan did'nt go to Paulie's body more because in the 4th he had him hurt with a body shot? i said why go to the body when you keep hitting the face clean.

I think Khan would outbox Bradley no problem, Khan uses his reach and jab to the best effect, Bradley 5'6 wont get close to Khan and wont output Khan, Khan will even outbox and outwork and outland him.

Bradley is a freak. Peterson has a longer reach than Khan and it didnt affect Bradley one jot. Khan is too good for Maidana, but he's not on Bradley's level in my book (yet anyway).

Good fight, will test Khan's chin. Some of you whiners would have a problem with Khan fighting Hearns, get Maidana's balls out of your mouths.

There is one thing having a longer reach, and another on how to use a longer reach.

    Prime example Paul Williams.

Yeah if something's working there's no reason to change it but that's my point. He hasn't been tested in that area yet. I think Bradley would duck and weave past that jab and get close. I think Khan would be catching left hooks whenever he tried to hit Bradley with the straight right hand.

Paddy, I agree about Maidana. I think Khan would beat him.

I think now when you try to come forward vs Khan you will eat combos, if Khan misses with his jab, because of his handspeed can still get shots off, and when your coming on to them Bradley will eat alot of shots to get off a few of his, but i guess we will just have to see on fight night when it happens.

Either Maidana or Ortiz would be a real step up for Khan . I think of the two Ortiz is the better all round fighter he just fought the wrong fight against Maidana and jumped in when he thought he hurt him and got dragged into the trenches. The main question mark over Ortiz has to be his heart.
Maidana's a big puncher but if Khan goes in with a game plan and fights a careful fight at range then he should get the win . He'll have Roach in the corner telling him exactly what to do between rounds . I'd expect Khan to get a UD decision provided he doesnt do anything daft .
Whichever of the two he fights i'll give him credit for fighting a tough live opponent and he'll get my backing and i'll buy the ppv .

**** right off. Khans handspeed is not that great. He has not fought a quick fighter Kotelnick makes anyone look quick and that his best win. Paulie is a one handed fighter and even he rocked Khan in the 4th with consecutive left hooks. Bradley has fought fighters taller than himself all his career ffs his reach will not be a shock to him. I dont think he can last a round without getting hit tbh.
