Guy ran a show that likely drew decent numbers for his subscription base. I’m sure he knows what he’s doing and where theres value. think he also wanted to create a relationship with Mikey
Wouldn't have a problem with him getting paid if he didn't talk so much how he's the best and he would beat all the top guys. Put or shut up! Money will come once he start being those top dogs. Then he can't be denied the big bucks. Besides, I clearly stated that He got a bigger offer from team Haney at that point. So clearly he went for the smaller pay, versus the bigger pay. Plus a chance to really become undisputed. Clear duck!
Haney's a paper champ w/ a resume that looks like that of a prospect. When Haney steps up comp, let me know.
U are correct my friend on his resume, but let me know when these top guys like Loma who pretty much was mandatory decided to give up his WBC to avoid fighting Haney. Ain't his fought Loma gave it up.
Who did Lomachencko fight when passing on Haney? When will Haney fight other top contenders in the meantime? Does he expect to face the very top w/o working his way up the rankings? Gotta put in the work first.
Fortuna was suppose to be his big step up fight, but backed out. Luke Campbell was targeted as well, but chose to fight Loma instead. Gamboa was the only notable name that didn't turn down a fight with Haney. Loma gave up his belt to fight Campbell which made no sense after Loma had said his goal was the be undisputed @ 135.
Doesn't sound like anyone is ducking Haney. He's just the odd man out. I like the kid, but it gets a bit annoying when youngsters are anointed something major before they've even had a tough fight. Clearly Loma had bigger fish to fry. Maybe now that Loma's beltless, he'll be a little more open to it. Hopefully Loma realizes he's not a champ and will take fights like this. Any idea if Haney's trying to fight Davis? Ryan Garcia? I like that he was very active in 2019. We need more fighters like that.
I personally rank Teo, Davis, Loma and probably Garcia and Commey ahead of Haney. Nobody is ducking Haney, it's just Haney and Hearn trying to force their way in to a conversation that doesn't concern them right now. In my opinion, We need to see Teo Vs Davis, Commey Vs Garcia, Loma back and thrown in to that mix. Haney is getting dragged the distance by little old man Gamboa, it isn't impressive and it isn't exciting.
Mikey is one of the bigger names in boxing with a built in Mexican fan base. Vargas is also a biggish name with a small Mexican fan base.
Cite your source. ******* states Lopez purse is more than that. Besides that bit of false info, Haney hasn't beaten anyone of note. Not sure how its a duck under these circumstances
Haney definitely wants Ryan, but Ryan turned him down for Tank. Then Turned Tank down for Pac. Of course u already probably know the turn out for that. Ryan drew all that attention on him and Tank and then backed out thinking he was going to fight Pac smh. I don't think Tank and Haney will fight at all because Mayweather came out and said they will never fight. Also now that Haney father is not training him anymore, the rumor is that Mayweather is about to be training Haney. SO if that happens, then u know Tank versus Haney definitely not ever going to happen.
I'm pretty sure u can goggle the info like I did. It was the hottest boxing topic at the time I did this post. Haney is the WBC champ. Whether people want to say paper champ or not. It's not his fault Loma decided to give up the title instead of defending it against him. He was mandatory to Loma. Now if top fighters are avoiding him at 135, then how can he have a notable name other than a pass prime Gamboa?
As it turned out the purse went well above $1 million, one imagines he could have had foreknowledge of how the bidding could go.
