Exactly, it's pathetic. And I even like Bute, probably more than any of the competitors left in the S6.
You are posting nonsense, and you are well aware that it is nonsense. Showtime/Sauerland dd not invite Bute, and you are fully aware of that, so why are you just making up random bull****?:nono
Iv really enjoyed it and the next 2 fights are mouth watering but if Ward and Dirrell find a way of avoiding eachother its as good as finished.
I think Showtime should fast forward the tournament directly to the final and consider Ward vs Dirrel and Abraham vs Froch the semis already. The tournament is still very nice, one of the best iniciatives in the last few years.
what i think is most likely to happen is dirrell drops out--he would have a legit excuse due to the concussion--and ward fights the winner of froch-abraham in the final
I understand the point he's attempting to make.Should Dirrel v Ward not come off and with Kessler pulling out due to injury-the Super 6 is relegated to the Super 2,which is just plain stupid and defeats the entire purpose of this ill fated tournament.
Well, sure. It's silly at this point to assume that that will happen, however. If it was the will of anyone involved in the negotiations to dissolve the Super Four following Kessler's press release, we'd have heard about it long before now. As it is, there's been a tug of war over the location. All that means is that the September 25th date on Showtime is in jeopardy. It does not mean we can or should assume that it spells jeopardy for the fight itself (or the remainder of the tournament). If either Ward's people or Dirrell's people wanted to walk away after the pull-out, why would they choose to spend another week and a half bickering over the venue for the scheduled WBA title fight? Ward has a shot at unification on the line. All he has to do is fight Dirrell first. Dirrell has a chance to win two titles in as many fights. Sticking it out makes the most sense for everybody involved. Stalling the negotiations long enough to force a new date and gain some breathing room to hash out a venue also makes perfect sense from either POV. What we're most likely looking at is a postponement. So announcing that it "Looks like the "Super" "Six" is out for the count..." is off the mark.
Ward refused to fight in the tournament unless he got all his fights in his home town! Now Dirrell wants his fights in his home town. Dirrell faked an injury to get his last fight in Detroit and it worked, he also did a good job of acting. Abraham could have knocked him out, but he made the mistake of hitting Ward while Ward was down and Ward went into his acting routine. So, I guess Ward/Dirrell fight is canceled.
I hate dumb ppl that think going up and down in a weight class it's easy... especially when you wanna do it properly.
Jeeez...atsch What agenda? Everyone knows I've never liked the fact that the "Super Six" was liberally billing itself as the tournament involving the best 6 SMWs on the planet, and as the tournament that was going to crown the undisputed champ at 168 lbs. Bute and Andrade were six of the best and they should have been in it. And everyone knows I thought the tournament was good for boxing because of the fights it created. I am not a fan of anyone left in the tournament? You're pathetic. I am a big fan of Ward, whom I compared positively to Hopkins before anyone else on ESB, as far as I know. I am a big fan of Dirrell, who I think is getting better and better, as I have pointed out in numerous threads. I have been and still am a big fan of Abraham, despite of what he did in the Dirrell fight. And although I don't like Froch as a person, I respect him tremendously as a fighter and get very excited about the way he fights. ...as you well know. What does the poll mean? Do I need to spell out boxing related metaphors to you? Remember when you weren't thinking with your wishful thinking organ? Get a life!
Bute is the best 168 lb. champion, but Ward refused to allow him to fight in tournament! Ward "always gets him way! Now Ward and Dirrell have fought over who will get fight in his home town. Ward will win this debate and Goosen will cheat for Ward once again. Dirrell faked an injury to get fight in his Detroit! They both know that to win they must have fight in their home town. Now that fight in going to probably be canceled over that factor!
Because they both realize that the chances to go to a decision are very high and they both want to take that extra round the hometown fighter gets or who know's maybe those extra rounds. The fact that every fight was won by the one who fought at home. The high probability that Dirrell is thinking he got robbed in UK. The fact that Dirrell recently sent Ward on his e-mail some old photos of them from the time they fought at amateurs bringing back old memories almost like saying : Do you really wanna fight me ?
