No rematch go to the bottom of the pile just like Joe Joyce had to do. Give kabayel, Parker, bakole to name three a chance.

I get that AJ's promoter, trainer, and various 'advisers' and 'managers' are trying to rinse every last penny out of the 'cash cow' and the rematch (with a few excuses to feed the legions of mugs) could be built into the ultimate 'cash out' . And obviously Dubois and his team aren't going to turn down a relatively easy payday.
But what is Turki AlShikh's motivation?

Yes, a rematch is only valid if

    1. The champion calls it (AJ wasn’t the champion)

    2. The first fight was close (AJ was beaten up like a novice 6 months into learning how to box)

No justification for a rematch other than Hearn’s ego.

No one knows if Turki wants this rematch.

    Why would he?

And it’s him calling the shots now not Hearn with his ridiculous hair plug.

Unlike against Ruiz he won't be able to outbox him cautiously because Dubois will find him at some point anyway.
So he will have to jump in the fire but there he has few chances because Dubois is a natural fighter, AJ is a natural athlete

Dubois isn't the champion though, Usyk is.

AJ was fighting Dubois because Dubois had a "world title".
Whether you like it or not, Dubois holds the IBF world title, and other top heavyweights would like to 'challenge' for it, so they can win it and call themselves a 'world champion'.

Whether you like it or not he has that paper belt purely because Usyk vacated.

Dubios himself is targeting a shot at the champion.

it’s no doubt going to be Dubois’s highest payday yet by a mile. Against a guy Dubois just destroyed last outing, a guy who looked like he can’t even take Dubois’s jabs.

Total no brainer for Dubois to take. Just train hard and don’t get cocky.

As for AJ… good god man. Your dumb ego is going to land you in the hospital. This is a Frazier-Foreman situation. It’s going to be even worse for you this time.

and Turki… come on man. You really trying to make Frazier-Foreman 2? Why? Have AJ fight the loser of the Usyk-Fury rematch, and have Dubois fight the winner. Let AJ fight a tomato can between to stay busy, while Dubois fights Kabayel or something.

    * For argument's sake, I'll go along with what you're saying and agree that Dubois is just a contender chasing a shot (a reasonable point of view) and that ALL the other contenders in the world don't care about challenging for the IBF title at all and only want to face Usyk (completely wrong, but whatever).

That still doesn't mean Dubois-AJ 2 would be a good match to make or that it doesn't hold up the division. To find the most worthy challenger for Usyk/Fury winner, the top candidates (Dubois, Parker, Zhang, Kabayel, Bakole etc.) should be matched against each other. That is fair. If that does not happen, inevitably some of them are just going to sit on the shelf for years and never get the opportunity. Unless one of these 'contender v contender eliminator' types matches is an extremely competitive fight (usually one that ends in a close decision), it makes no sense to rematch. No one is calling for Zhang to fight Wilder again. Joshua was Dubois's easiest win since Trevor Bryan. Dubois rematching Hrgovic and Miller would make more sense than AJ again. But if you really want to see it, who I am to tell you it's not good. Each to their own.

I actually rewatched Joyce-Chisora the other day. Chisora should retire after that one. He pulled it off while looking like he could barely stand, impressive give every ounce of everything he had left performance, while the entire crowd was chanting his name. And then when the decision was announced, the crowd started chanting his name for another few minutes. It’s NOT going to get better than that as a way to exit.

Dubois v AJ absolutely does not hold the division up.

Parker v Zhang might well happen again.

Kabayel v Bakole is a good fight to make.

The three winners give Usyk 3 fighters worth facing.

It's a good fight, I enjoyed it and I'd watch it again.

If it makes you feel any better just don't want the rematch.
