Maybe Joshua can redeem himself. He didn't take that dude seriously maybe.

Maybe so. I doubt it could go much worse. That first KD was bad, as Joshua's reactions looked so slow. He gets faked out by DDD's lead hand, then he didn't even seem to react at all to the overhand right until it connected, just skipping away hands down in front of Dubois.

Wouldn't be shocked if Joshua bulldozes Dubois in 2 rounds, dude has low self esteem so maybe if he puts in his mind that this is his last fight he might psyche himself to win and just go for broke.

    You wouldn't be?

I would be. He got outboxed the entire fight in addition to being completely outfought. Dubois showed a willingness to push the pace and punch between punches. Joshua did a shitty Floyd Mayweather impression. When was the last time he bulldozed anyone, never mind a top 5 HW?

Joshua KO2 would be a huge shock.

I wonder now Dubois has tasted AJ power and stood up, he might get the job done quicker. Everyone seems to be making this loss out to be an AJ problem, AJ underperformed, AJ underestimated him etc and that is doing a huge disservice to Dubois who had an offensive plan and stuck to it. Experts, coaches, you name it were claiming this was the best version of AJ up till the moment he got chinned. Can't have it both ways.

I think he did take Dubois very seriously.

So much so that he appeared to fighting leery from the outset.

Joshua appeared to be affected in varying degrees by virtually every punch landed on him - ominous sign for the rematch.

Sort of similar to the apparent effects of Zheng’s power relative to Joyce’s chin.

Although known for an excellent beard, even the once bitten Joyce was that much more shy vs Zheng the second time around - and poor Joe was seen off that much more quickly and definitively.

For Joshua, no matter how tight he fights, it’s very tough trying to protect a chin that’s a bit crystal relative to assumed standards at that level.

That Dubois can really punch at any rate seems to spell disaster for the fragile beard of AJ yet again.

On both physical and psychological levels, AJ is truly up against it.

He took him serious alright. Perhaps even too seriously? In any case, it didn't do Joshua any good. Dubois looked like he owned him physically and mentally, from the first bell.

Will AJ dance around the ring to cruise to a Decision Ala vs Ruiz II?

If Dubois inexplicably comes into the rematch the size of a blimp, there might be a slither of hope for AJ. :D

Unless you’re some sort of Joshua fanboy with an emotional attachment I have no idea why you think this fight makes sense next. Sure, it’s a good fight for Danny’s bank balance but for fans of the sport, nope. Joshua got battered from pillar to post like a ginger step child. Let s give someone worthy a shot. Joshua needs to go back to the drawing board.

Don’t think he reacted at all. It was lazy and disrespectful, he just went back to the ropes and thought he was out of range. Amateur stuff.

I don't think it's Joshua's chin that is the main problem. He's visibly uncomfortable when a flurry of punches is headed his way and he panics. He forgets how to hold and how to use his jab. His sparring should be with guys who are constantly pressuring him and making him uncomfortable.
