Looks like Toney might actually have lost some weight

I really think Toney can clown Denis and give him a real beating. It's just down the stretch can he maintain his quality work.

Thing with James he's a natural fighter he's born to be in this sport.

 

Back in the day this would definitely be a Jirov/Toney situation, I think parallels could be drawn other than his opponents Eastern origin. Lebedev and Jirov are both pretty face first southpaws, very aggressive, not really typical lefties in that sense. Denis doesn't have Jirov's work-rate though. If it was THAT Toney, he'd be landing his right hand all night and generally completely schooling the straight forward Russian, but he's not that Toney anymore. He has no legs, his chin seems to be deserting him, his reflexes are shot, he's heavier, can he maintain a work-rate to dissuade Leb? A lot of things are suggesting the answer is no.

A guy who was sharing a ring with Maccarinelli a few fights ago is now sharing a ring with the legendary James Toney.

Agree with this. I just hope Toney has at least one big fight in him. Its been too long since jirov or Holyfield. The other night I watched his last fight with Reed and Toney weighed 257 and looked absolutely shot.

I find it hard to see Toney producing a masterclass he's just too old and his reflexes are gone. I hope I'm wrong but lebedev is rightful favourite. Still might put a bet on Toney though. :hey
