He's a massive hero in America for his commentary on Landon Donovan's winner the other day. They're comparing him shouting 'Go, go USA' it to Al Michaels' 'Do you believe in Miracles' line when USA beat Soviet Union at Ice Hockey.

Glad for Darke who always comes across as a classy guy and not just a company yes man, but looks he could be in demand in the US and we may be left with Adam Smith/Jim Watt combo. :patsch

He is a great commentator, his commentary of MAB v Morales from February 2000 in their first fight is awesome...:deal

Be gutted if we lose him, but if the Americans are putting the Greenbacks on the table, it's a no brainer for him I guess...:yep

I've only ever seen the HBO coverage of Morales/Barrera 1, do you know if the Sky coverage is available on YouTube?

I think Darke is a fantastic commentator.

Darke is a good football commentator - but below average as a boxing commentator.

Although it all depends what you like for a boxing commentator - I personally like to listen to a guy that is steeped in the science not a A+ commentator on small talk and descriptive narrative (not to be confused with technical breakdown).........

He brings unbridled passion to his commentary & we need more like him & less of that ***** Smith, even my missis who hates boxing said "Who is that phoney pratt" when she saw him with Watt giving a pre-fight verballs & it's about time Sky binned those 2 company yes men Piper & McCrory.
