I really doubt this would be announced, printed and sent out on a "newspaper", but no other boxing website would have caught wind of this.

MEXICO - The Mexican boxer Rafael Márquez was injured right thumb and not fight on 18 September against the Puerto Rican Juan Manuel López for the title of the featherweight world boxing Organization (OMB) according to press reports. Márquez told today of the daily newspaper editing record that a doctor recommended he be between six and eight weeks without hitting with the hand. "I am very disappointed with what struck me, everyone knows that it is the fight that was waiting, but ultimately I can not be ready by September 18", commented Marquez to record, as he published The Associated Press. Boxer noted that injured his finger to shut the door of his van. The match was scheduled to perform at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas hotel. "I don't know what will happen now, or when I get back." "I come out of the doctor, he said to me that not Peleus, I am sad for me, Juan Manuel and all Mexicans who wanted to see us together 18 in Las Vegas," he added. In the meantime, López handler learned by El Nuevo Día of the injury suffered by Márquez and indicated that his promoter company, Top Rank, inquire the seriousness of the injury, if any, and will tell the unbeaten Puerto Rican champion what course to follow. "I called our spokesperson in the company and told me that a little time." "He is going to communicate with the company to view the veracity of the news, for any result and make us aware of what we do... see what will be the plan B," said Orlando Piñeiro, handle and coentrenador López. "We have to see what alternatives we have."
