Honestly, after watching the fight a second time, I am very surprised how little Lopez landed on Lomo despite having a much higher work rate. Lopez was punching a lot of arms early on but we tend automatically give him the benefit of the doubt because Lomo did so little. I actually believe Lomo won round 2 because he landed the best shots of the round. Lomo won round 7-11 CLEARLY if you score based on clean punching. The only round where Lopez scored very effectively was the very last round. If anything, this fight was a draw with Lomo winning his rounds much more dominantly (based on clean punching, not work rate). This fight has shades of Hopkins-Taylor 1 and 2 if someone has not said that already. At the end of the day, Lomo has nobody to blame but himself and congrats to Lopez despite the shitty scorecards.
You know you made it when you are 23 years old and beat a p4p fighter on your second title appereance and people still look for anything they can to discredit you.
this dude gives loma a 10-8 rd in the 11th, lol. i skipped there to just watch the 12th rd, and thats the first thing i heard. and that was enough for me. i should have know better than to watch one of your videos, mark.
Bro this is 100%. I've addressed round 2 on this forum and no one was able to give an actual logical line of reasoning as to why Lopez should be scored it despite less cleaner punches. Loma did this in round 2, 4, 6..and won them.. Lopez ineffective aggression of coming forward and getting outlanded by Loma was apparently worth giving him these rounds. Also round 1, Lopez wins it, but he lands one or two bodyshots whilst Loma is retreating and that is it. Rounds 3 and 5 are very arguable for Lomachenko for actual clean punching but I gave Lopez every benefit of doubt here. I scored it 2, 4, 6, 8, 9, 10, 11 to Loma . Every round other than this were very close swing rounds. Also, Lopez hurt Loma in round 12, but Loma also hurt Lopez in that round (not as much as Loma was tho) AND outlanded him with cleaning punches AND Lopez was on the back foot for the majority of the round (something thesw guys would score for Lopez, but can't for Loma.. OK lmao emotional invested or what)
