Teo can be a lot of fun to watch, but he will not progress further with his Dad around. Reminds me of the Dogbae situation. Have to change up the camp before it’s too late.
Good point some of the advice was solid like "Use your power to knock him out" maybe if he said it louder Teo would've realized that's what he needed to do.
Maybe if he added “Baby” like Buddy McGirt or “Look here man” like Floyd Sr it would have worked better
I remember him saying something in the Kambosos fight in the later rounds "Just go out there and knock him out"
Joe Calzaghe’s dad didn’t have any boxing experience and learned everything from scratch because he wanted to help his son. Loma’s dad was a boxing coach with limited boxing background, I think Usyk also trained with him at one point. So it’s not about the experience in boxing that makes you a good coach, it’s the passion, and not being a nutcase helps as well as those trainers/dads are. Lopez Sr, Bill Haney and Garcia’s dad all belong in a mental institution and their sons would be way better off without them as trainers.
Tony Mundine Snr was a good fighter in his own right and he was in Anthony's corner for his whole career. He was always pretty calm and managed to guide his son to a world title so I think you are right not being a nutcase narcissist is the key.
Absolutely shameful when Teo Jr. is known to spiral into depression after his losses and after the Shakur fight he even said in an interview he hates himself even more. Meanwhile this clown bailed on his son even before the fight winner was announced smh
At 28 and soon to be 29, he is what he is. Taking his father out might help his mental state or we could be in a shocker in that his over bearing dad is what keeps him in line from a total meltdown.
Just saw an video of Shakur saying how he felt bad seeing Teo alone after the fight, his whole team abandonded him. Teo sr is a loser and and an idiot. His son has done things he never could do and still this loser blames his own son and leaves him after the fight. Shakur on the other hand seems like a pretty solid dude.
