Well at least he's a man of his word and wasn't just talking BS. But you have to assume he will comeback at some point, would be odd if he just retired for good.

We all hate the Alphabet boys and wish they would dispear. Then a boxer dumps one of the belts and people jump on him. Sad, really.
Respect to Lopez for tell the WBO to stuff and become a free agent.

Yeah this turned out to be bull****, he was just emulating Tyson Fury. Grandstanding at its finest, and nothing more.

What a jackass. But hey, jackassery is in character, so no surprises here.

    Great. Another Jermall Charlo.

"I don't plan on defending this belt, but I'm not gonna drop it and let the division move on BECAUSE IT'S MY BELT YOU GUYS, YOU'RE GONNA HAVE TO PRY IT FROM MY COLD, INACTIVE HANDS!"

Not how this is gonna work out, he likely will defend, but that's exactly how that sort of thing comes across.

People regularly (rightfully) complain about sanctioning bodies on this board. Why are so many posters now complaining that a fighter is (rightfully) ignoring sanctioning bodies as they see fit?

i'd like to see more fighters throw belts in the trash to be honest. let them start really competing with each other for fighters sanctioning fees. the problem is they're all in bed with the promoters who convince the fighters (and some fans apparently) that sanctioning bodies actually do anything to make fights happen, or make them successful.

So he is iust another boxer holding up the belt. No plan to defend or relinquish it. makes me also laugh cause in a way he is screwing the Org. No fights mean no sanction fees too.
