    Who wins? and how?.

Should be a great fight, i'll go Maidana by TKO 9th round in an all out war. Lopez has the skills to win a decision but he will brawl and fight with maidana and that could be his downfall.

Maidana, 7th TKO, marginally behind on the scorecards at the time of the stoppage

I got Lopez beating him. I think he has better overall ability than Maidana. Either way it should be a great fight.

Its a pick'em fight but I'm going with Lopez by decision due to his higher workrate, Maidana could very well starch him but I think Lopez will survive and then pile up enough rounds down the stretch.

Maidana. Lopez will probably come out looking more spirited and more mobile, but he already looked outsized against Ortiz, and it's only a matter of time before Maidana lands, and he can still crack at welter. Plus, he's setting his shots up behind a jab more patiently. Poor Lopez, I like the guy. Wouldn't be surprised if he won but I favor Maidana.

Maidana breaks him down and ends him in 9.

Lopez decision but he's really a 140 pounder!

I can't count Lopez out. But aside from the Alexander fight, and barely losing the Khan fight, Maidana would find a way to win. I thought he beat Kotelnyk but just didn't get the nod. If you have decent boxing skills, you'd give Maidana a hard time. I thik Lopez is an okay boxer, but he loves to fight and that's going to benefit Maidana.

I'm gonna go with Maidana by decision in a war. Lopez has a hell of a chin and has a lot of heart. He took a lot of punishment from a 170lbs Canelo before succumbing to those vicious body and head shots. He clearly did not belong at 154, but he did deserve that fight since he beat the guy that was supposed to get the Canelo fight.

If a stoppage happens, I don't see it being that Lopez quits or gets knocked out cold. It could be a ref or corner stoppage from Lopez taking too much clean shots. But then again, Lopez can not be counted out, he can go in there and run through Maidana and just outfight him like he did to Ortiz. But Maidana is no Ortiz, the guy is a machine and there is no quit in him, ever.

I'm rambling now, I love this fight. **** it, I have no real prediction. Just give me a FOTY and score it a draw so that we can see it again and again.

He's as much a WW as Maidana is. They both have only 2 fights at the top level, above 140, and this is both their 3rd fight above 140. Maidana did fight Angel Martinez, but I can't really count that. The fight ended too quick and that wasn't even a top level fight.

If anything Lopez fighting a huge 154 pounder like Canelo and losing like that could actually be a blessing in disguise. It could have hardened him and enable him to take the power of WW's. We already saw him take Ortiz's best power punches before the Canelo fight, and Ortiz hits hard as hell, obviously. I think fighting two back to back strong, young, big punchers like Ortiz and Canelo will get him ready for just about any other puncher at WW.

I remember sparring when I was 140lbs, I would spar guys 170-190lbs and take their shots, i'd get a beating some times, but never TKO'ed or anything. Then when I would spar guys my size, I barely felt their punches

I have a feeling Lopez will win by outboxing Maidana. Sort of like Alvarado/Rios 2. He could get dragged into a brawl given his nature but if cooler heads prevail, he might win a decision.

    I fancied Lopez by decision.

But after seeing Peterson getting knocked out, I have no idea how this may go. The Argentinian may get a knockout victory here.
