Lopsided decisions in fights between two "elite" fighters?

No one was picking Jones to beat Toney, Jones was a huge dog in that fight. As was Hopkins in his fight with Tito, 8-1 was hopkins in that fight from the odds makers.

Mayweather was a slight dog vs Chico. But it was maybe the most lopsided that I can remember. Followed close by Jones Toney and then Hopkins Tito.

 

The first to come to mind was Roy Jones-James Toney. Vernon Forrest-Shane Mosley I is another one.

 

That was a schooling. Mosley won 3 rounds at best.

 

Yeah but many did feel that Forrest would beat Shane. To the insiders of boxing that was more of a pick'm fight.

Lacy wasn't elite, top 3 doesn't make you elite.

Tito wasn't elite by the time Winky beat him, and Tarver is not, and has never been elite.

Mijares/Arce though, we didn't know Mijares was elite before, and Arce was pretty much elite at that point.

Hop/Tito counts as well.

PBF/Corrales is a great one.

Jones/Toney as well.

 

Winky-Tito was the worse one in recent memory. Tito was the favorite and got a boxing lesson.

 

if you're calling corrales great (maybe i'm misreading it) then i'm going against that.

rest is pretty sound.

 

Tito-Hopkins was worse IMO. Trinidad was PEAK, was the favorite but was beat at his own game for 12 rounds only to get KO nasty.

 

I agree with 2 and 3 but I knew Winky would make Tito look silly and I said it before the fight.

 

Corrales WAS at the time considered elite. He was undefeated and destroying guys at the time.

 

2 of these 3 are good...although Joe spanked Lacy, his has never been elite.

my brother bet on Hopkins against Tito and he got 3/1 odds online. I don't think there was a bookie in the world that would have given you 8/1 on Hops
