Following on from another IB thread.... How would this guy had have done had he turned pro? His resume as an amateur is off the scale, well and truly. Would he have dominated? Would he have struggled? :think:think
He would've been pretty dominant. Not only was he ridiculously successful (and yet little known about) in the amateurs, everything about him -areas of strength, and style - was bespoke for a smooth transition.
He had many shots that weren't counted against Mayweather, it was a very close fight. But yeah he was an Amateur Great. Not quite Kindelan but still great.
He beat Lara, Kindelan and Casa. And came damn close to beating PBF. You can't be a mug if you get those wins on your ledger. Wikipedia list him as 5'4..no way he is that is he? He looked as tall if not taller than Floyd and only half a head shorter than 6ft'ish Artayev.
I remember seeing him box live a few times (as in I watched it live on TV). He was really good. I definitely saw his fight against Vanes Martirosyan and Artayev in the 2004 Olympics and I'm sure I saw a couple more too.
Tons of missing footage of some of his biggest fights. That would be an absolute treasure trove if someone uploaded even a fraction of it.
