For those who remember, Spider Rico was the first opponent that movie viewers ever saw Rocky face. He was a club fighter from Philly who battled it out with the Rock in the opening scene of Rocky I. Incidently, his real name is Pedro Lovell and he was a respectable journeyman during the late 70's.

Lorenzo Canady was also a real life journeyman who appeared in Rocky 5 as an opponent for Tommy Gunn ( Tommy Morrison ). Incidently, the fight was a real match that aired on ESPN in 1990, and I happened to see it. The fight was supposed to be an easy KO to ad interesting footage to the movie, but Canady made him look unimpressive and took him the distance. The film only shows Morrison briefly landing a few big shots against him.

So who wins between these two Rocky bums? Again, both were real life fighters, and you may use their actual records and or footage to make up your mind.

Lovell boxed at a very high standard, while Canaday only beat a few half decent guys and lost to anyone going anywhere.. Lovell stoppage.........

I remember Canaday v Morrison and Morrison had a very hard night . they out it down to too much emphasis on that movie and not enough concentration on his primary career which was as a fighter.. Morrison was actually slated in the press for that fight, Lorenzo extended Tommy and made him look very poor.
