It only got worse, this morning I was flipping through the news channels and I think it was fox news, they had a whole 10 minute segment on the Lorenzo-Soto controversy. The newscaster made it seem like it was some unbelievable news story that rocked the boxing world. She had Bert Sugar on and they went through everything from the WBC being a corrupt organization that favors Mexicans and siding with Soto and not giving the title to Lorenzo, the Dominican to Lorenzo giving the biggest academy awards performance for his fake injury. It was a disgrace. The woman then said she isn't a boxing fan but would tune in for a rematch or even go to it (WTF?!). :patsch

I'm not surprised this has happened, other than the big title fights it seems the mainstream only likes to showcase the negative side of boxing, ie. This happening, Fighter's badly injured or dying, Mesi's brain bleeding,etc..)

It's ridiculous.. If the mainstream media doesn't want to talk about one of the best sports in the world, then **** 'em.. Yahoo, ESPN, all of them.. Even though I am an avid user of Yahoo and I do watch ESPN a lot who also showcases some fights on Wednesdays and Friday, I don't pay no attention to them whenever they talk about boxing, because it's either ridiculous, degrading, or inaccurate.. The real boxing fan's knows whats really going on and know where to really go to get their news, articles, or interviews..

That ***** is stupid then.. If she actually watched the Soto-Lorenzo fight, she would know that what she said was ****.. Sad how she made it sound like a great fight, although while controversy while she could have talked about the guy who fought in the main event who's an ATG.. Again it's sad to see this is one of the only ways to get boxing on the front page or the news of the mainstream media..
