Yeah but I don't know how much clamour there is for Cain to be fighting for the title so soon, he was blown out in a minute by Cigano. To be honest I'd like to see the winner of Barnett v Cormier take on JDS/Overeem. The UFC Champ v the SF GP Champ would be great. Plus if it's Barnett you know he could sell the fight well if he's given the right media platform to do it on.

And how exactly is Mir going to make it a grappling match if he wants to make it a grappling match?! :blood

Is he going to take Velasquez down?! Don't be utterly ridiculous.

That would be ideal but Barnett isn't a guarantee that he's in the UFC. I hope he is and would think chances are but we will see what happens after his cormier fight. SF is closing the HW division so it only makes sense.

Last I checked, Mir was a better jits ace than Cain.

Mir has some good sweeps and decent throws up close.. With Cain being significantly smaller than Lesnar and Carwin, Mir may be able to get it down.

If I had to pick, I would say that Cain is going to catch Mir with something and get the KO.

IMO, Frank Mir is one of the greatest medium sized heavyweights ever.

Aside from the Natural, Noguera and Fedor.

However, the top of the food chain is filled with equally talented heavyweights but with superior size. Dos Santos, Velasquez, Carwin, Overeem, (Lesnar was once there but he quit)

That makes a lot of relevance especially in MMA where bulk is part of the equation due to grappling aspect of the sport.

If Mir can impose his strength there would be no problem. But those giants in the division showed us where his limitations are. (Lesnar and Carwin)

I like Mir, but he'll get smashed again if he tries to clinch and outgrapple with Velasquez.

His best chance is to keep it on stand-up or hope Velasquez makes a mistake and get submitted.

 What a silly, silly post. Mir has no way of taking Cain down, so forget his jits being an issue. You should know better.

Yea but Cain taking Mir down isn't out of the question and Mir has a dangerous guard..
