To be honest, I think Mir is getting way too much credit for submitting a shot Nog. Nog was not only shot, but was giving up a huge weight advantage to Mir, and got careless because he thought Mir was in la-la land. Lest we forget, Brock Lesnar beat the dog**** out of Mir on the ground for a sustained period in 2 rounds, and was never close to getting subbed - and that was Lesnar, who never had especially rounded skills or awareness or a great understanding of the game.

It would be silly for Cain to take it to the ground because he has a clearly greater advantage on the feet IMO, but if he does take it to the ground it's not inconceivable he could pound Mir to death. Cain may not be as heavy as Lesnar, but he makes up the shortfall by having better technique, and is still bull-strong anyway, as was clear in the early stages of the Velasquez-Lesnar beatdown.

Mir struggles with wrestlers with a heavy top game, at the pace Cain works at on the ground I think he could conceivably beat Mir up on the mat.

This has Mir vs Freeman written all over it.

    Mir's going to get smashed.

Oh boy, one of those "that punch woulda KOed anybody" people. No, nuthugger, it wouldn't have. Dos Santos beat the living **** out of Carwin and Nelson landing even more brutal punches than that on them multiple times but they didn't fold because :scaredas:they actually have Chins. Velasquez's Chin is Pure Glass as evidenced by him getting dropped multiple times against Kongo and one-punched by Dos Santos. He is a good fighter and I like his style, but he has no Chin. None.

Bear in mind everyone, this guy thinks Chuck Liddell had a better chin than prime Rampage, and thinks Floyd Mayweather has a better chin than James Toney.

ie: he is ****ing **** at ChinChecking.

Liddell blocked punches and kicks with his face for his entire career and in his prime was never knocked cold. Rampage was knocked cold and draped over the ropes in a puddle of blood like a murder victim in his own prime. Floyd has never been dropped and has taken punches from LW to JMW, Toney was floored by a jab. I have given Toney plenty of credit for his Chin and he would have placed higher on the list were it not for that disgraceful knockdown against Peter.

You know nothing about Chins and happen to be British, which means that there is a 95.8% chance that you yourself are packing more British China in your Chin than exists in the Wedgwood factory.

I am very interested in chin talk, actually. According to the amount of UFC I have actually seen both Velasquez and Mir are glass Jawed. Mir was rocked by a jab in his last fight for ****'s sake and Velasquez was dropped by a glancing ear shot.:lol::patsch

You have been refuted and pwned Neville.:deal

Glass Jaws Exist in all pugilistic sports and this is ESB where we discuss ALL aspects of pugilism. So long as posters like myself, Zakman, Rico, Canucks, Alien, and GlassJawsExist are here, we will continue to provide Chin Talk and Punch Resistance Education for the masses. If this bothers you, you should probably

A.) Find a new sport to watch, possibly tiddlywinks.

B.) Take the internet less seriously.

C.) Avoid posts and threads that you find disagreeable.

D.) Accept that Glass Jaws are a real part of fighting and discuss them rationally. I feel that this is the best choice by far.

I hate to break it to you, but Chinchecking is growing as we speak. I have had numerous people PMing me asking how I became such a an elite-level poster and renowned Glass Jaw analyst and they are now well on the way to becoming Punch Resistance Educators themselves.
