what a pointless rematch!! if you only manage to win 1 of 12 rounds and get badly beaten in every other round you don’t deserve anything!!! especially in texas! sergio would be crazy to take this in texas where chavez will get away with juicing, skipping **** tests and winning on the scorecards as long as he finishes on his feet no matter how badly he gets beaten up.

The 12th round was so dramatic i understand why most want to see a rematch. I don't think Martinez's pride is going to allow this to go unsettled because lets be honest he followed through with his game plan perfectly, won and he's the one in the hospital.

Why would you not want them to rematch?

Getting his hand checked and knée ligaments, not because he'd been beaten badly like it sounds you're implying.

    So true.

Lose 33 minutes out of a 36 minute fight - gets rematch.

    **** is absurd

Bring on the winner of a GGG/Pirog fight at least.... if not mayweather, cotto or canelo.

I was at first shocked at the mention of rematch. After thinking about it some though, it makes at least a little bit of sense. We know Chavez cannot out box Sergio, but we now know he can get to him, and possibly stop him. So there is a lot of drama in the sense you have the hound chasing the fox and you don't know what will happen. One punch can turn any fight around, and a knock out trumps everything that comes before it. Had Sergio actually have been stopped, I would think he deserved a rematch all the same for the masterclass of boxing he turned in up until that point.
The rematch in all actuality could be very interesting and high tension, if they stack a better undercard than last night, its worthy of being a big PPV event, then they put it in Cowboys stadium and they have it all. A huge live gate, HBO backing, a story of dramatic fashion to wrap around it, and lots of money for Sergio and Chavez. I'm sure Sergio would like to repay the favor in part two, and that even though he dominated most all of the fight, I'm sure almost getting stopped at the end has left a sour taste in his mouth.
