Presuming GGG does the business against Macklin? Loser of Kess Froch will have nothing to lose and much to regain so the GGG fight will become more reward than risk. Anyone else thinks this makes sense considering how hard it's been for GGG to get names on his résumé?
Kessler will retire if he loses. Said so himself. If he wins he should get the Ward rematch. I dont think Froch would move down for this fight, nor should he. Can see it being a good fight tho.
At 168 I meant, GGG has expressed his willingness to campaign anywhere between 154 to 168. In light of the Kessler retirement ultimatum let's theorize he loses a disputable decision and feels he hasn't deservedly been beaten.
Good point. He definitely should if he loses a close one imo. Froch has said he would be willing to have a third fight, but that might be only if he himself loses a close one. I think Kessler takes this one, and if he cant get the Ward rematch he should try to get Golovkin. GGG has fought in Denmark before as well, so that might help the chance of making it happen. Would be the biggest fight ever in Denmark either way..
Mexi-box, GGG said he will fight at 168 if he has to, to get fights, so no one will have to come down in weight.
Oh, that would be better, but I still see no reason this fight should take place. GGG isn't a dominant contender like Abner Mares was at bantamweight, and he doesn't have a huge fanbase. Yeah, we can argue the whole avoided thing, but he hasn't fought anyone relevant at his own weight class. If Froch wins this fight, it would do nothing for him (Kessler said he'd retire if he loses), but if he loses this fight, it'd be a huge hit to his career, maybe even send him into retirement.
