Losing ONE POUND can never in a million years weaken an adult male.

The Foreman fight only went 9 rounds though.

Your rationale seems flimsy. If it's the same process to get to 145 as when Cotto trains to get to the WW limit, then what makes Roach think that Cotto can't rehydrate to pretty much the same weight as he normally does? Furthermore, Roach stated it wouldn't matter if Cotto rehydrated to 160 lbs. It seems to me that Roach anticipated Cotto rehydrating quite a bit regardless.

Why did Cotto say he didn't want to return to WW full time if that's his best weight and if he has no problems making the weight?

It is impossible for a welterweight who struggles to make 147 (but obviously manages it, as he is a welterweight) to lose 7lbs? Impossible? Seriously?

Go look up the word 'impossible' in a dictionary you stupid ****. :patsch

And Cotto didn't show signs of slowing down. Next.

Cotto can't do it, which is why he went to 147 and now 154. ****ing moron.

As I said, it is not a guarantee that Cotto's rehydration weight would be affected, but it was an attempt to cap it. The difference may not have been that much even if successful, but if your guy could be outweighed by 10+lbs in the ring, of course you'd take a shot at levelling the playing field if you can. Fightnight weight is what's important, Roach took a shot at ensuring they were as close to each other as possible.

Could be because lmw is a ghost town compared to welterweight, where past conquerors Pacquiao & Margarito are lurking, as is Floyd Mayweather.

However, this is only speculation. If Cotto stays at lmw, I very much expect a real lmw like Martinez would be far too big and too good there for a 5ft 7in guy like Cotto. But I think he'll go with Steward and return to a weight that suits his physical dimensions better.

Good job I wasn't referring to Cotto then, you drooling ****** ****, it was an analogy made to show how losing weight definitely would affect a fighter.

Losing 7lbs is not "impossible" for any welterweight, but many wouldn't even dream of attempting it for any money because it would weight-weaken them so severely that it would cripple their fighting ability in the ring.

Asking a guy who came in at 146 to come in at 145 for his next fight, very obviously, would not.

If you have extreme trouble making lets say, 147, to begin with, then 1 pound more (if you came in at 148) is gonna be a struggle.

    No dick.

If you come in at 146 for 1 fight, then 145 for your next fight, ONE POUND will not have made any difference.

You don't know what a pound is or understand this thread, so **** off. :good

I am not getting into this, it's beside the point. You ****ing can't comprehend what it takes to cut weight. I was on the weightlifting team in high school and had to cut weight, I know what it takes. You sit here and type mindless **** like this.

Of course, when you slow down in a fight like he did against Clottey and your opponent doesn't, you will take punishment. Maybe you should actually try Boxing sometime.

No need for using terms like "severely handicapped" like that. You really need to grow up.

I box you ****ing imbecile, I cut weight to make fights. I know for a fact that weighing in light for one fight then being asked to weigh in one measly stinking pound lower for my next fight is so insignificant that it could never, ever affect anyone the next night in a fight. One pound is nothing to a guy of Cotto's size and dimensions, it is a tiny, negligible amount of weight that he would scarcely notice. ****ing idiot.
