List your five best examples of a fighter's stock rising as the result of a losing performance.

Some examples (in no order) to get the old ball rolling:

BHop losing to RJJ, Duran losing to Hagler, Vitali losing to Lennox, Witherspoon 'losing' to Holmes, and Conn losing to Louis.

What was it about the loss that upped the loser's reputation ?

No it's not. He was already a star and the loss didn't show us anything we didn't already know.

I don't get it, how is that any different to what others have listed such as Holyfield-Bowe or Duran-Hagler?:huh
Both Holyfield and Duran were already well known stars when they gave their best losing performances.

I guess Adamek against Chad Dawson and Tua against Ibeabuchi are worth a mention.
