Here's an easy one to finish off the night.

Who is the only World Champion who retired with a losing record?

    Francisco Quiroz

hh... I have a question for you.

From what you have mentioned on accasion yourself, and from what I've read elsewhere, I understand that you're into other sports besides boxing. So, out of curiosity, I was wondering if boxing is your main area of expertise... or do you know just as much about other sports, such as baseball, football, basketball, etc.?

YES, BUt when I was doing some research, I actually found 2 that had losing records. What is the other name of the boxer?

The answer to the other question is yes. I got my REP from answering all kind of sport questions for local newspapers, starting in the 1970's. You can read my bio to find out more. When I 1st got on the internet I went on several web sites that had baseball trivia questions and I became the best at that. I then went on many more with the same results. They would have contests every month or even every week and I won every one of them. I then went to football, basketball, hockey, track & field, auto racing, boxing and any other sport you can find, and did the same their as well.

There was this one site that I was answering questions on that they said that I was wrong at times, and I know that I wasn't. I then E-Mailed them with the right answers, with the proof. They contacted me and wanted to know if I would like to go over some questions that they had in baseball. I said, sure. They sent me a couple of 100 and I answered them within the hour, so they gave me 1000's to look over. I found that they had 10% of the answers wrong.

This site would put down 4 or 5 possible answers and you would have to pick out the one that was right, so I did them all. Then they asked me how I was in football, and I said, well just sent them to me and we will see. The same thing happened their as well, and I answered all their questions. At this time they started paying me for my time. They then gave me questions on all the other sports, such as College and Pro football, college and pro basketball, hockey, tennis, golf plus any other major sport you can think of except boxing, and I fixed those too. They then told me that they had people doing this before, but 1 was for each sport. They told me that I answered the questions much faster and more actuate then all of them combined. So they let all the others go, and I did the work for all of them.

All told, I fixed or answered approx. 36,000 questions for them and these questions went in machines and contests all over the world. The only thing was that I or no one that I knew could enter. I even had to sign a contract saying that.

When WFAN 1st came on the radio, the Mets use to have a trivia question before and after there games. I answered them so much they banned me from entering anymore. I remember I couldn't get through for several days and no one could get the question right. They were giving baseball books as a prize and when I finally got through they had dozens of them as the prize. I said to them, put all the books on a mack truck go over the George Washington Bridge, down Route 80 to Lodi, because I got the right answer. Actually it was a 8 part question BUT I had it all down.

Also, one day while I was working for PSEG, a question came on the radio about August 16th, the day Babe Ruth died. They wanted to know what baseball player was born on that same day. I saw a pay phone and went on it and answered the question. My name was then put on the radio as the person who did so. A few minutes later my beeper when off and it was my boss. I called him up and he asked me where I was, so I told him. He said you just got off the phone didn't you. He told me that several bosses were in his car going to lunch and they all heard my name. He then asked me, what did HE win. We all had a good laugh over that.

I am also a trivia checker on several other sport trivia web sites as well. Some people on the sites got mad, saying that I was a Professional, so I stopped doing all the other sports and now I just do boxing, except once a week I do answer another quiz that is a mail out to some of the top sports trivia people around. Since I started many years ago, I haven't missed one. They even had an article in the New York Times about the quiz. Several newspapers have done stories on me through the years including the New York Times and the Bergen Record. I hope I answered your question and didn't bore you too much.

Thanks a lot, Henry - very interesting!

As for the other champion with a losing record... hmm, I'm afraid I don't know who that is.

Boxed Ears - No offense mate, but you have absolutely milked the Pong thing beyond belief. It was barely funny in the first place.

    Thanks!

The question is that a world champion retired with a win/loss record under .500. Francisco Quiroz finished with a record of 11-15-1, so that's a losing record. Now who is the other Champion that finished with a losing record.
