Not sure if I agree 100% about your assessment of AJ's recent history (some of it I do) - but you are making a terrific point here.

The thing about Fury is that you don't have time to think. I'm convinced that Fury is not extremely quick, physically, though he moves well enough of course. But he is exactly where he needs to be almost instantly (so no time to think). And the thing that I think really messes with a fighter's head is that you aren't sure if that's because he's putting himself there or he's putting you there. Put him in with an uneducated fighter like Wilder - the effect is turbocharged and the opponent's confidence quickly collapses.

So Fury, as HWs go, is pretty much the embodiment of that natural adaptability you are mentioning. That's what every special fighter has, IMO, and I don't know if can really be taught.

AJ should try to get Fury in a phonebooth quickly.

    Absolutely true!

Your number of wins and just a number and sooner or later everybody's number comes up!

Lesson #1 Learned by AJ from the first fight: You have to know the difference between a fighter being buzzed and actually being hurt before you leap in to try to finish him. Particularly true if that fighter's hands are as quick and heavy as Ruiz's were.

Lesson #2 Learned by AJ from the first fight: Don't step in the ring with a mild concussion. Reschedule the damned fight. Take your L with the press and fandom - not your opponent.

Lesson Learned from Ruiz at the second fight: Many a rematch has been lost at the buffet table before the rematch actually takes place.

You believe that if BJS shutout Canelo AND knocked him down three times he’d get a draw?

    I chuckle at your optimism.

    Canelo victory via SD 115-113, 113-115, 118-110.

 I think that might be enough to sway one of the judges to score it a draw

I’m not trying to say it won’t happen, however I honestly you could pull Canelo’s corpse from the second row, mid fight, and as long as it’s propped up Weekend at Bernies style he gets the win in Vegas.

And BJS would probably get hit with a VADA violation for taking a cough drop in 2014.

I don't think Lewis took it as a lesson long term. Yes he prepared a lot better for his next fight but he came in unprepared for Klitschko who was a late replacement but still he wasn't in his best shape!

The biggest difference is that Lewis fans always brings up this loss via cut and argue how far better than Vitali Lewis was.

The biggest difference is that I do not care about any Vitali fight record per se.
He was rarity in boxing just cos he was on from most watchable HW boxers world ever had, he never was boring to watch and if this, for me my opinions about Vitali never had changed even if he never in his life had any belt.
Boxing is to watch and have fun for fans and Vitali always delivered exciting, beautiful fun and pleasure to watch boxing.

The biggest difference between KB/MT/MMA fans and boxing fans is this: there is big name in pros and he had lost fight in amateurs in his backyard vs noname, no one insults him, guy is learning.
Lad get finished by future world champ in semi pro boxing and he is a bum for boxing fans but he normally gets good offers in KB and MMA.
    LOL.
