No wonder they didn't show their unofficial scoring until Mayweather started landing something. They always show their scoring earlier, usually after the fourth round. But this time bacause Mayweather was losing the first half, they didn't so that they could manipulate the public.
Over 80% of the ringside observers scored the fight in a similar manner as the Showtime commentators. Who was manipulating them?
I agree for a different reason. They are showing the same bias the HBO guys were. I expected Paulie to be more "unchained" but he is clearly leaning toward the paycheck. Really disappointing. The brutal honesty is nearly gone.
@shadow111, i agree pauly was great and actually acknowledged when Maidana was landing the Jab and being first in the center of the ring.
Showtime crew was high off their ass on Saturday. They acted like the sun was imploding with every whiffed combo Maidana threw. Brian Kenny had to set them straight at the end of the broadcast. I watched the Boxnation broadcast on Sunday morning. Much more reasonable of what's going on in the ring. Showtime crew was as emotional and caught up in the action as a PMS'ing teen... They forgot the scoring criteria laid out on how to judge pro fights.
Thanks for raising this point. When i was scoring the fight i wanted to see how they had it, as i was quite astounded by the early scores. I guess, you must be right. I didn't think of that until now.
How they scored the first 6 rounds shouldn't impact how you scored them, dude. Why would you even care how they were scoring them? How they scored the first 6 rounds doesn't impact how they scored the last 6 rounds. Nor should it for you.
