Lost my first fight on Streetbeefs yesterday. Made welter limit, but had to fight at heavyweight.

I am 5'6 and realized that am not a heavyweight so I got all the way down from the initial weight that I told streetbeefs months ago that I weighed which was 208. and got just under the welter limit at 146.

Months later the day finally arrived for me to fight. My fight was the last fight that was scheduled on the event and when it was time to fight, I stepped on the scale one last time and they said that I told him that I was 208 lbs. I told him that's what I weighed months ago but I lost a lot of weight. They said that I should have notified them of the weight changes and they already have my opponent scheduled. My opponent was 6 ft 4 and came in at 238 with a perfect record of 7-0.

The organizer said that I would have to postpone because they don't have a suitable opponent for me, but they do have a suitable opponent for the guy that I was supposed to be fighting. They told this to my opponent and all hell broke loose with him saying that he does not want to fight the other guy and he wants to fight me because I'm the one that he's supposed to be fighting.

When the organizer tried explaining it to him, I realize that it was my fault to begin with so I told the organizer if I can just go ahead and fight anyways because it was no telling how long I would have to wait until I get another chance to fight. The organizer said that it's up to me, but at the end of the day I just wanted to go ahead and do what I wanted to do the entire time which was just go out there and fight.

After some back and forth discussions with the organizers up there that took about 15 minutes to get resolved, they went ahead and let me fight.

The first round began and I knew exactly what I was going to do from the start which was stay away, use my speed and quickness hit and move out of the way. The guy was very big, but he was not very quick, so for the entire first round I was able to do just that of hitting and moving out the way all around the ring. I was getting hit with some jabs that we're doing a good bit of damage, but I definitely won the first round.

My friend in the corner was saying that I was doing a good job and to keep doing what I was doing and there's only two rounds left.

Second round I started doing the same thing. Moving around hitting and getting out of the way. I was on my way to winning the second round, with about a minute left, he completely abandoned his boxing and started bull rushing me against the fence and started swinging wildly.

I took a hard right straight in the stomach and immediately went down. I got back up and he did the same thing. I tried to get out of it, but ended up taking another hard right but this time to the ribs and just like that, my hopes for winning this fight were beginning to dim.

Round three was coming up and I was sitting on my chair hurting really badly and breathing hard. My friend was saying that there's only one last round left and so far it's evened up. He was telling me to go back to my game plan because my opponent was tired by now with all of that wild swinging, but I told my friend that I'm hurt now and I don't have much left.

Third round began he did the exact same thing he did the last round. Bull rushed me and started swinging wildly, I managed to get out of it, but ended up taking heavy damage. With only 20 seconds into the round, my friend in the corner said keep moving around. By this point I knew that this guy wasn't about to stand back in box anymore. All of that was out of the window, but I did not have anything to keep him honest.

But I tried anyways for the first time in the fight. He ended up bull rushing me yet again and swinging and instead of covering up and trying to move out of the way, I stood and traded with him. I hit him with two perfect hard shots to the chin but they didn't move him and in return I took a very hard hit hit to the jaw and ended up hitting the ground hard.

The entire ground was spinning and I was extremely dizzy and I don't know how I got up, but I heard the ref count to nine and somehow with the help of the gate I was able to get myself up. I heard the ref repeat several times are you okay and do you want to continue and are you sure. All I remember was saying yes, but everything was shaking and spinning, I was hurting badly and I had nothing left, but I did not want to quit.

I heard a lot of people cheering in the background. I heard my friend in the corner saying that the round is almost over and I'm almost there. I know that the fight was over because I know I lost both of these rounds, but I still wanted to make it to the final bell.

Unable to throw back because I was barely hurt and hardly move because everything was dizzy, I was a stationary target. The ref immediately saw that I was no longer in condition to fight and got in between both of us and wave the fight off.

I did notice that immediately after the fight was waved off, my opponent went back to his corner and started jumping for joy with his corner. He was now 8-0.

I'm just extremely disappointed with myself right now. I thought that my body would be able to withstand more than what it did and I'm disappointed in my power hitting him with two shots that would have dropped a lot of people did not move him.

You all can see the video in the next couple of days when they said that they will load it to their channel.

If all that is true (no offense), than you have nothing to be ashamed of. Seems like you gave it a go against a heavier opponent and came up short. There is nothing wrong with that. Hopefully in your next fight you can go against someone who is in your weight class. Good luck!

    5'6'' 146 inexperienced vs 6'4'' 238 7-0

You really shouldn't be that disappointed.

Good review of the fight and good effort but this fight should never been approved, this was a mismatch from the beginning, shame on everyone involved in this show.

It doesn’t sound like you want to make this a career and just wanted a fight but pls don’t do this again, you can get hurt and I promise it’s not worth it if you do.

I'm experiencing déjà vu. Pretty sure I've read a very similar post on here within the last year.

Good effort despite the advantages the other guy had. As others have said, the organisers should be held accountable for allowing the fight to take place.

I am surprised that you are so surprised that your power wasn’t enough to dent your opponent, or that you struggled with their power. It was a massive size and weight disadvantage.

I remember sparring at my local amateur club and I was a welterweight with some experience and sparred a novice heavyweight. Got clipped and it felt like my brain rolled around my skull a few times and I had to hold on to the ropes
