The way he jawed about getting robbed, making Joe look like an amateur, that lame low blow he milked. Hopkins lost and he made himself look like a jerk off after the fight. This is coming from a Hopkins fan. I also like Calzaghe as well but I have been following Hopkins much longer.

I had it 116-111 for Joe. 115-112 is the closest you could get in my opinion. Hopkins did not win more than 4 rounds.

Hopkins fight a good fight. I had it 114:113 for Hopkins. He has the better punches. Calzaghes punches more but didn“t any damage on Hopkins.

It was definitely worth the time to set up that account to make such an awesome, well thought out and highly analytical post. Well done.

If you do insist on making all these shitty alt account posts at least try to make it seem like they arent all from the same guy. The odd bit of capitalisation/punctuation would help.

I wish they had shown a replay of the second alleged low blow. The fist one was a tad low but couldn't have hurt THAT badly. The second one seemed non-existent and they didn't even show a replay! Bogus. Hopkins impressed me early in the fight (similarly to Casamayor in the Katsidis fight) but eventually didn't want to work enough and quit being able to land the straight right. i thought Calzaghe would look better but NOBODY looks good in there with Hopkins.

    116-111 Calzaghe

I can see Hopkins honestly thinking he won, he is the one fighting, nobody is objective when its them in there. And while the rounds were clear for Calzaghe, they weren't blowouts.

Hopkins thinking he won is reasonable, anybody the **** else thinking that is insane.

Calling the **** who scored it for Hopkins a backalley abortion is an insult to coat hangers everywhere.

To be fair to Hopkins, low blows do hurt pretty bad. The pain spreads all over and doesn't go straight away!

    Agreed.

No, I think you're exagerrating a bit here. Quite a few people did think Hopkins was going to get the decision (including the BBC and Enzo Calzaghe). I'm not saying he should have (Hopkins supporter and I gave it 115-112 to Calzaghe) but there are quite a few people who do (channels etc..)

I guess it comes down to how you prioritize clean shots against output. For me, Hopkins didn't do enough, which is why I had so many rounds to Calzaghe (8 rounds to 4, with the first being 10-8 )

I had it 115:112 in favour of Calzaghe.

I respect Hopkins skills but not his "personality".

    1. The famous "no excuses BUT..."
    2. But he didn't fight in Wales. He fought in the US with an American ref (who did a horrible job in the first four rounds) and three American judges.

it was a close fight no matter what some of the people on here would have you believe myself personally i thought it could have gone either way because bar the last two rounds i couldnt give any rounds to calzaghe decisively as i dont actually think he was landing effective punches just crowd pleasing flurries whereas hopkins did land crisp flurries. I think a lot of the rounds were hard to score and if you are scoring a fight it depends what you personally look for more but coming from a hopkins fan im not crying robbery it was a close fight he fought to the best of his abilities and the best of his age and made calzaghe fight his fight. Calzaghe has my respect he looked lost for the first half of the fight and made the adjustments to pull off the win....me personally i have it 114-113 hopkins but i prefer crisp punching as opposed to ineffective aggression

6-8 were Calzaghes by a very wide margin.

Eh? what did i miss!!! Do you mean when enzo said to joe he has to stop him in the last round? Thats more of a motivation comment to get a big round out of joe rather than to be taken literally mate i think ;)

Even if we put it aside, the BBC, ESPN and others seemed to think Hopkins had it. But like I said, I gave it to Calzaghe 115-112 so I'm not complaining (even though I supported Hopkins).
