What do you guys think Ortiz and Parker should do next?

Parker hasn't really looked great in his last 3 fights (looked skilled vs AJ but boring). I think I would fight a Molina or possibly a Washigton on a Wilder or Joshua undercard? Try and get an impressive KO to get favor back. Guess he will sit back and see where he gets ranked in the WBO.

Ortiz is a tough one. He needs another shot and needs one quickly because of his age. Needs the quickest route to a mandatory. Fight each other would be interesting but I don't think Parker is doing that. Ortiz vs Povetkin would be interesting and would get him in position bit Povetkin isn't doing that.

    What do y'all think?

Both will go to the back of the line and will have to fight one or two 2nd tier guys to get back into the mix.

Few of the names above are possible.

Hmm I don't think it will be that long. There are only a few HWs that move the need as oppenents for Wilder and AJ more so DW because he needs nothing but credible foes from here on out. Fury is obviously the big one for both after each other. Povetkin probably for both is bigger. Whyte for AJ, for DW shaky. Breazeale for DW is passable definitely not bigger than either Parker or Ortiz. Miller could work.

If AJ vs Wilder doesn’t happen next, would love to see AJ vs Ortiz and Wilder vs Parker…Ortiz and Parker might actually present more problems with these matchups than the ones they just fought. Would love to see it…

Parker v Wilder would be a better match up than Ortiz v AJ, but in both match ups people would be able to do a direct comparison between Wilder and AJ.

I think for Parker would be good to face Browne if he still wants to fight. Decent fight.

About Ortiz... I can see something like a fight against Charles Martin, Andy Ruiz JR or Kownacki ( if he is going to fight in the US ) If he is going to Europe : Takam.

I think they should both fight Povetkin he looked dreadful and open against Price or fight Price to show people they are better than Pov, but time is running out fast for Ortiz, I think his career is finished, Parker`s only 26, he`s younger than AJ and Wilder, Deontay is 32!

Ya, I think Ortiz is a worse matchup for AJ than he is for Wilder.

Parker should take a warm up fight against Ortiz, and then go back after the heavyweight champion Joshua, or Wilder if he’s still a belt holder by then.

Agreed Ortiz would be tougher matchup for Joshua but, Parker might cause Wilder more problems than I would normally think too, he’s more disciplined on game plan and would not present the same openings…

Maybe I’m over thinking it but I think they would be really interesting fights…

Ortiz will retire. It is not good for 50 years old heart patient to fight with young guns.

Parker/Browne makes the most sense to me. It's been talked about for a while, it's a winnable fight for Parker as Browne looked terrible vs Whyte coming in over weight and looking old and slow. It would be a good payday too, so Browne would likely take it for one last payday before retiring.

As for Ortiz, he's "officially" 39 years old now so his options are limited. He won't get another title shot unless he can somehow becomes a mandatory again for Joshua. His best hope is the Haymon can pull some strings and get him to fight Pulev for the IBF eliminator now that Breazelae has pulled out to likely fight Wilder. But with Ortiz not even ranked by any of the other sanctioning bodies due to his failed test, it's highly unlikely he'll be in a position to be a mandatory for years, if at all.

Ortiz doesn't really have the luxury of rebuiling his career slowly, like Parker, he has to take whatever fights gets offered, he wasted far too much time arguing with promoters in recent years. Maybe Haymon can force an eliminator between Whyte and Ortiz for the WBC Mandatory position. If Breazeale fights Wilder next the next 2 top ranked WBC fighters are Whyte and Ortiz, one win for Ortiz and then Haymon can get Ortiz to challenge the winner of Joshua/Povetkin or Joshua/Wilder.

Based on their last fights Parker slaughters Browne really easily. Any top 20 HW would beatdown the corpse of Lucas Browne IMHO.
