Lot of horrific takes on the Hrgovic Itauma fight

Are you suggesting some boxing fans struggle to take a step back, put their emotions to one side, and give a logical balanced view?

I'm not responding to your post but I am responding to your threaad title. You could not be more right. I am amazed at how many bad takes there are. To be fair, there are a lot of good takes as well. The bad ones are saying Itauma is finished or that Hrgovic is now a great fighter. Others saying that Moses was like Tyson in victory and still like him in defeat as if this Itauma loss was the same as Iron Mike losing in his 11th world title fight. As you noted, there are many talking about the bout as if the scoring through the first eight rounds really meant that Itauma won the fight except for a lucky punch. There are many others. There are always good and bad takes after a big fight but some of the takes after this one are stunningly absurd.

 

Yours is a horrific take imo.

Hrgovic didn't take Moses anywhere. He merely survived until his opponent got tired while he took a lot of punishment. It was one way traffic, and essentially a test of how long Hrgovics chin can survive.

Moses dominated the whole fight, outboxed, outclassed filip and this was confirmed by Filip himself.

You make it look like Hrgovic was still fighting back and keeping it competitive.

It was not competitive. It was Hrgovic mostly getting manhandled and dominated. He was shelled up trying to survive against a 21 year old novice kid going past 6 rounds for the first time ever.

Let that sink in.

Yeah and Hrgovic got lucky in doing that, by his own admission.

I am very happy for Hrgovic, and I wanted him to win. I did not root for Moses. Hrgovic also succeeded in getting under the skin of Moses and it cost Moses the fight in fighting off bad energy.

 

The horrific takes go both ways.

Itauma did pretty well but fell short, there's no shame in that. He has the potential to come back from this much stronger.

Hrgovic followed and executed his game plan perfectly. He came in excellent shape and withstood a lot of punishment. I'm really happy for him, and love the fact he's chasing unification straight away with no nonsense in between.

This is the start of an exciting time in the heavyweight division and I'm all here for it.

Everybody knew the biggest question mark on Itauma was his stamina and Hrgovic totally exploited it.

Fight to your strengths and your opponent's weaknesses is Boxing 101.

 

bottom line is that, if both fighters started selling stock in themselves today, all the smart money would buy the itauma stock up as fast as they could.

it means this fight didn't change who they are. and the upside of being who you are is much better if you are itauma than if you are hrgovic. everything that made itauma exceptional before this fight, is still there. everything that made hrgovic ordinary, is still there. if you were to invest in a future, itaumas future offers the best returns.
