Lou Dibella Confirms: Knee not the problem, Sergio simply very dizzy after first blow

If you're equilibrium is impaired tend to fall awkwardly ie you place your foot non parallel to the ground, ie your feet aren't 'under' you - your balance is off and you fall upper-body first. Sergio had his feet under him and just went into a sitting position, suggesting his balance was fine but what was supporting his weight ie his legs, gave out. Plus he got up immediately and barely look buzzed at all, only frustrated.
I'm not saying the punch didn't affect him and\or his knee was injured going into the fight. My interpretation is his old movement patterns don't work as well as they used to because of damage to his knee and all his rehab\new movement patterns went out the window when he got hit, his knee can't take the his old way of moving and that's why it gave out on him until he cleared his head and calmed down enough to start moving in his new way again.

Dibella's claim could be the truth. But they also claimed Martinez didn't do much sparring at all for this training camp meaning his punch resistance could've been low. He got buzzed and Cotto capitalized. It's not like it's the first time Martinez had been knocked down and hurt in his fights.

 

If you know anything about gait and have an understanding of movement analyses you can tell sergios knees were in terrible shape as he couldn't put weight on them which affected his movement, stance ability to take and throw a punch

Dibella is obviously going to say that his not going to admit to sending him into a retirement ones fight in that state he would lose all credibility

 

That knee was done for. It was amazing that Martinez lasted so long. I really hope he retires. I'd hate to see him in a wheelchair.

It all looks nice until you consider that his falling was in fact in connection to being punched. You cannot get around that, he never fell on his own, or even buckled on his own, it always coincided with being punched. That throws the full "weight' of the evidence on him being buzzed rather than knees being hurt. You can even look at the Yuri fight to see what a truly hurt knee looks like, problems putting any weight on it, buckling without being hit, falling without being, nothing like the Sergio fight.

 

Haters can't give Cotto credit and admit to being amateur fight fans who got hyped upon Sergio's wins over drunk/sick/shot Pavlik and a Chavez who trained for 5 days. Sergio got Jeff Lacy'd. Exposed once he stepped up in skill level.

 

I like Sergio but he has been done since the Chavez jr 12th round
