Taylor said the other day that he wants to be fighting the champions and winning the titles at 168.

It's clear that Dibella has other priorities.

Contrary to what Dibella says, making a fight with Froch is startlingly easy - Taylor is the mandatory contender afterall.

If he wants it in the US, then he just bids enough to win the purse bid.

If he doesn't think that is viable, let Hennessy win the purse bid and pop on over to the UK. They could probably argue for a 50/50 split of the purse rather than the usual 70/30 in favour of the champion. And Hennessy's contract with ITV would probably mean Taylor getting the biggest TV audience of his career in the UK alone (and I'm sure one of the American networks will see their way to showing it as well). Given that the centre of power in the division he wants to contend in is in Europe this is all logically very good exposure for Taylor.

If he really wants it, however, he needs to dump Dibella whose starting to look more and more like an American version of Mogens Palle.

Anyone for Taylor/Lacy 2: the rematch the world completely failed to demand?

Froch and his promoter said they would not accept anything other then 70/30.

There is no way in hell Taylor will accept to take only 30% if it goes to the purse bid.

I don't believe they have. Hennessy has mentioned the fact that the champion/challenger split is usually 70/30 in a purse bid situation. It's a negotiating position. If you have a quote where they have said what you say, I'd be interested to see it.

So we're starting to see that Taylor maybe doesn't have the options that some people think he does. DiBella has efectively said they won't fight Froch or Kessler because the risk/reward aint right and Bute is unavailable. Well that's three of the major champions out of the way and I doubt he's going to be fighting Balszay anytime soon for the WBO belt. So what is there left for him? A meaningless domestic round robin with guys like Green, Lacy and Miranda while the rest of the world gets on with the fights that matter? Methinks Mr Taylor needs to moderate his demands somewhat.

Froch is a simple fight for Jermaine, but not enough money. Froch doesn't get 70/30 even if he does have a belt. That is laughable. They want a money fight before putting Jermaine in against Kessler because he is the most dangerous fight. Bute would be a belt Jermaine could take with no problem but Bute doesn't want a tough fight after getting KTFO by Andrade. It will be Hopkins/Taylor III. That's the money fight. I mentioned this last year but no one was thinking it would happen. I still think it will.

Bute has contractual obligations with Wilfred Sauerland.

By 'they', you mean Dibella. That isn't what Taylor says he wants. Does he have the balls and is he able to dump Dibella though?

Apparantly Maxime cares enough to make stuff up, but not enough to look for a quote...

I'm inclined to agree with the article in the latest editon of The Ring that suggests that a move to 168 might be the final big fight for Bernard Hopkins. Taylor vs Hopkins 3 might be on the cards within the next 10 months. Failing that I suspect that Taylor might end up with Froch.

Froch, as Pascall showed, isn't as hard to hit as he thinks he is. Taylor's jab, when thrown properly and not lazy, will be a very effective weapon against Froch. I suspect that he'd be happy to fight behind that all night and pick up a wide UD.

It was defiantly mentioned, straight after the Pascal fight, but was probably said as more of a bartering tool. Froch has also said he would go to the US for the fight. I still think this may happen, as it seems to be the best option for both boxers at the moment.

I've been going on since quite awhile back that Taylor/Hopkins III will happen, and I also would be inclined to say the winner will be fighting Calzaghe.

Unless he can get a 3rd fight with Hopkins I suspect your right. Boxings too localised at the moment. Its supposed to be an international sport ffs!:patsch
